This Sunday Sharon will be running Chester Marathon

Sharon has not fundraised for a while but would love to help my friend and fellow choir member Emily .

Emily is putting a huge amount of effort into her fundraising for a trip of a lifetime representing NW Girl Guides

Emily has been really privileged to be chosen to represent Girlguiding at next year's InTops and will be off to South Korea to experience first hand culture.
Emily and a small group of 15 young women will explore the culture of the country including kpop music, staying in a Buddhist temple and visiting a Korean palace amongst many others.

She has to raise all monies herself and to work her carbon footprint to Zero.

The carpark on the old sport centre site permanently closes this week

Not good news for me and my customers sadly 😏

As work to transform Oldham town centre continues, we’re having to make a couple of changes to some of our council-owned car parks. ⚠️

The old sports centre car park (off Rock Street) will permanently close from 27 September.

This is so works can take place to enable the future development of the land as a site for new town centre homes.

We are also closing a section of the Bradshaw Street car park (behind Summit Up climbing centre) so it can be used as a site compound for the ongoing works taking place to improve streets and public areas around the town centre – including the new garden near Oldham Parish Church and the ongoing works at the former Snipe Inn.

There will still be over 55 parking spaces including five disabled bays at Bradshaw Street.

To separate car park users from site traffic, we will create a new entrance, slightly further down from the existing entrance.

Unfortunately, this means we will have to remove a tree, however we will ensure three more are planted in its place as we landscape new areas of the town centre.

We’re working hard to regenerate the town centre and apologise for any inconvenience.

There are many alternative car parks nearby and you can find out more at oldham.gov.uk/parking
