I’ve had some amazing feedback these last few weeks from people who have been struggling to hear and I’ve gone along to help them! 🦻 10 Earwax Facts You Probably Didn’t Know! 🦻

1️⃣ It’s NOT wax! Earwax is a mix of skin cells, oils & secretions that protect your ears.
2️⃣ It’s your ear’s natural cleaner. Talking & chewing help push old wax out.
3️⃣ It fights bacteria. Earwax has antimicrobial properties that help prevent infections.
4️⃣ There are two types! Wet (sticky & yellow/brown) and dry (flaky & light).
5️⃣ Earbuds can cause buildup. Wearing them too much can trap wax & lead to blockages.
6️⃣ Q-tips can make it worse! They push wax deeper, increasing the risk of impaction.
7️⃣ Too much can be a problem. Some people overproduce wax & may need professional removal.
8️⃣ Stress can increase wax production. Just like sweat, anxiety can trigger more earwax!
9️⃣ Older adults are more prone to blockages. Wax gets drier with age, making buildup more common.
