My last price increase was 5 years ago, but due to supplier increases and general cost of living I’m having to make a small increase in my pricing. I have lots of lovely pregnant clients at the minute so thought I’d do a little post about changes in your skin and hormones during your pregnancy so you know what to expect.

Pregnancy brings a wave of changes to your body—and your skin is no exception. If you’re used to waxing as part of your routine, you might notice that things feel a little different during this time.

Hormonal shifts, particularly increased estrogen and progesterone, can make hair grow faster and sometimes thicker in unexpected areas. At the same time, your skin often becomes more sensitive and reactive. This means waxing, which you may have tolerated easily before, can feel more uncomfortable or even painful. Redness, irritation, and slight swelling are also more common because the skin is more delicate and blood flow is increased.

Some people also notice changes in skin pigmentation, such as darkening (often called melasma). Waxing over these areas isn’t harmful, but irritation could make pigmentation appear more pronounced temporarily. Additionally, the skin’s barrier can be slightly weaker during pregnancy, making it more prone to dryness or minor trauma like lifting or bruising if waxing isn’t done carefully. You are all in good hands so don’t worry, I may apply more oil or talc to avoid this happening .

The good news is that waxing is safe during pregnancy, as long as proper hygiene and technique are used, which is always a priority at woo waxing . Choosing a gentle wax, avoiding overly hot temperatures, and ensuring the skin is well-prepped and soothed afterwards can make a big difference. Many also find that spacing out appointments or switching to more sensitive formulas helps manage discomfort.

Ultimately, it’s about listening to your body. What worked before pregnancy might need a few adjustments now—but with the right care, waxing can still be part of your routine safely and comfortably.

So that’s it from me…. 13 hour days but you know what…you’ve all made it so worth it… I’ve had the best time the past 10 days, manic and tired, missed my Gaz ( he missed me more though 😂) , you’ve all been amazing. I haven’t had a cooked meal for 10 days it’s been work, sleep and bed. I say it every year… I’m not doing this again but I will, because I love you all dearly and wouldn’t leave anyone hairy for Christmas 😂😂

I can’t cope with how many presents i got from you all, so many thoughtful and very generous gifts… I’m blown away every year x. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for just being you.. for your continued support, the laughs, tears and for putting up with me. Love you all dearly.
