Just a little update…
Most of you know I’m off work now as I’ve been working on a new little project.. 😄
Would like to introduce our youngest son Stanley Luke Playford to you all, who arrived safely on Friday 17th April💙
I’m hoping to enjoy some summer sun (we can hope😂) and adventures with my little family before returning to work, however as always my messages are always open for any of my clients needing advice or to talk through anything, or just a chat!
Just don’t be alarmed if you get a reply at 3am when the latest sleep thief is wanting milk! 😄
Hope you’re all well and keeping happy and healthy!

Love using the Anatomy Trains book to give clients a visual guide to how connected the body is as a whole and to allow us to appreciate referred pain patterns and how different parts of the body can have a knock on effect to another.
The approach at New Movement is always to look at the picture as whole, and consider outside factors, job, previous injuries, stress, fatigue, age etc.
Our bodies are weird and wonderful, so it’s important to look at them in their entirety, rather than just look at one section and narrow down the options of what may be causing the problem 😀

Happy New Year! 😄
2026 is here.. hoping for a happy and healthy year for you all!
3 quick, straight forward steps to think about as we begin a new year.. let’s not complicate matters and kick start with three positive habits.
- HYDRATION - When the cold weather arrives, we all reach for the coffee and hot drinks and often forget about the importance of getting our water and fluids in. Avoid that sluggish, lethargic feeling by keeping our hydration up. Treat yourself to a new bottle to keep at the side of the desk or in the car! 💦
- GET MOVING - Make it relative to you and what your limits are but aim to improve on the movement you did in December. Even if it means just a quick 20 minute walk before tea or on your lunch break. It’s a great way to reset, blow away any cobwebs or negative mindset and release some endorphins to take you into the next day with a positive outlook. 🚶🏼♀️➡️
- REALISTIC GOAL SETTING - We’ve all been guilty of it, but if you’re setting personal goals this month for 2026, think about what’s realistic and achievable in order to maintain motivation. If you’ve got a long term goal, that’s great but set mini short term goals inbetween so they feel in reach and doable. 📝
We don’t need to make it complicated, and these are just three suggestions to try… 😄🤞🏼

Dare I say it? The autumn/winter wet and cold weather is arriving ☔️🍂
So how do we avoid that winter slump and maintain a positive mindset throughout?
Make those necessary adjustments and make time for the things that keep you happy and healthy! 😊
Why sports massage?
Below are the known benefits of sports massage and the effects it can have on us. All of these will help as the darker nights draw in and we possibly find a drop in motivation or overall mood.
Half an hour during the week to put yourself first and allow time for you to reset, work on any ongoing muscular issues, or simply just to relax and switch off from the busy weekly schedule.
Feel free to contact me for more information! A couple of appointments left in September and October diary is filling up so message me to book your slot 😀

🌟CLIENT REVIEW🌟
Some recent feedback from one of my lovely clients! (If you have had a positive experience at New Movement, please feel free to leave a review on my page… small businesses like mine can only grow on feedback and word of mouth, which I’m very grateful for😃)
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
My client came complaining of shoulder and neck pain on one side, limiting range of motion and losing strength.
We assessed things as a whole.. looked at her lifestyle, work pattern, exercise and hobbies. We found little areas that needed to change, albeit small tweaks within her day to day routine and then also worked on soft tissue release during her treatment sessions.
She’d also lost confidence in using weights at the gym in fear of it triggering the pain, so we reviewed this together and tailored new exercises that she could target comfortably initially and then progress from there onwards. With any soft tissue injury, movement is still such an important aspect, it just has to be carried out safely and appropriate to the individual and within their limits (which we assess together at a consultation and make a suitable plan)💪🏼
