Let’s normalise running a fully booked column every day as SUCCESS 🤍

I took a little step back from social media over the last few months.

Not because I didn’t love my business.
Not because things weren’t going well.
But because, if I’m completely honest, I started feeling like I wasn’t achieving enough.

Social media can make you feel like you should constantly be doing more… more followers, more views, more reels, more content, more growth.

And somewhere along the way, I forgot to recognise what was right in front of me.

I’m fully booked.
Stop putting pressure on yourself.

I have clients who trust me with their hair and have supported me for years. I get to go to work every day and do something I genuinely love. My day is full, my clients are happy and my business is still here and thriving. 🤍

And actually… that is success.

Because behind the salon owner you see on Instagram, there’s also a mum of two.

Someone who is trying to be a business owner, hairstylist, nail tech, wife, cleaner, chef, therapist, gymnastics mum, taxi driver, decision maker, organiser… AND apparently a full-time content creator too. 😂

And sometimes I simply cannot do it all.

I think we need to stop measuring success by how busy our social media looks and start measuring it by the life and business we’re actually building.

So this is your reminder; especially if you’re a small business owner. Your success doesn’t have to look like someone else’s online.

A fully booked column is success.
Happy clients are success.
Being able to pay your bills doing something you love is success.
Coming home to your family at the end of the day is success.

Nevertheless…

I’m still going to create. I still want to grow. But I’m no longer going to let social media make me feel like what I’ve already achieved isn’t enough.

Here’s to celebrating the business we’ve built, not just the numbers on a screen. 🥂🤍

✨ From curly to cherry red ✨

Would you believe me if I told you this hair was super thick & curly when wet?! 😮‍💨

This transformation was a BIG one. 🤎➡️🍒

We took the hair from a natural, multi-tonal brunette with lighter, previously coloured sections and transformed it into this rich, glossy cherry red.

But the colour wasn’t the only transformation… look at that finish! 😍
Smooth, shiny, sleek and full of dimension.

And honestly… that shine speaks for itself. ✨

Colour corrections are not usually a case of putting a different colour on top and hoping for the best 😂

There’s a LOT that goes into them.

I look at the existing colour, previous colour history, condition of the hair, what we want to achieve and how we can get there while keeping the hair as healthy as possible.

Sometimes it’s one appointment.

Sometimes it’s a journey.

And that’s completely okay 🤎

The result? Rich, glossy and full of shine, with lots of depth without looking flat or too dark.

From warm, faded and uneven ➡️ to a rich, glossy brunette 🤎✨

This is a perfect example of how much difference the right tone, depth and shine can make to your overall colour.

We wanted to take the hair back to a more natural looking brunette, creating a softer, richer tone that complements the hair rather than looking flat or overly dark.

The before had lots of warmth showing through, so the colour needed to be carefully formulated to balance those tones rather than simply throwing a dark brown over the top.

The result? A beautiful, dimensional brunette with that glossy, healthy looking finish 🤎

Sometimes the quickest route isn’t the best route, especially when we’re talking blondes, colour corrections or big transformations.

My job isn’t just to give you the colour you want today. It’s to help you keep your hair looking and feeling good afterwards too.

✨ THE LIGHTING CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING ✨

Ever seen a hair colour online and thought “I NEED that exact blonde”? 👀

Here’s something to remember… lighting can completely change how a hair colour looks.

These are 3 photos of the exact same head of hair, taken in different lighting and look at how different the blonde appears! 🤯

☀️ Natural daylight can make blonde look brighter and warmer
💡 Salon lighting can make it appear cooler or more neutral
📸 Camera lighting can enhance certain tones and make colours look completely different

So when you bring me a photo of your “dream hair”, I’m looking at the actual colour, tone, depth and placement not just how it looks in that particular picture.

Your hair might not look exactly like the photo in every lighting situation… and that doesn’t mean the colour is wrong. 🤍
