Chair based exercise classes for all abilities by Angela Holden-Smith

Running chair-based exercise classes for care home residents can have many benefits for their overall health and well-being. These classes can help to improve mobility, strength, and balance, which can lead to a reduction in falls and injuries. Additionally, chair-based exercise classes can help to improve mental health, as well as promoting a sense of community and social interaction among participants.
One of the main benefits of chair-based exercise classes is that they provide a safe and low-impact form of exercise for individuals who may have mobility or balance issues. Many residents may have limited mobility or may be at a higher risk of falls, and traditional exercise classes may not be appropriate for them. Chair-based exercise classes can provide a suitable alternative, allowing them to participate in physical activity without risk of falling.
Strength training is another important aspect of chair-based exercise classes. Many residents may have weaker muscles due to inactivity or age-related conditions, and chair-based exercises can help to improve muscle strength and tone. This can lead to improved balance and mobility, which can help to reduce the risk of falls and injuries generally. Additionally, stronger muscles can also help to improve overall health and can even lead to a reduction in chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
Chair-based exercise classes can also have a positive impact on mental health. Exercise has been shown to have a positive effect on mood. Social interaction and a sense of community can also be promoted through these classes, which can be especially beneficial for care home residents who may feel isolated.

Hi everyone

It’s been a while since I have posted on fb - honestly how time flies!

I hope you are all well?

A little update 💕

I have just turned 40 years old in August and have decided to take part as a team with other mums in Born Survivor on the 14th September 6km of the muddiest rolling terrain reinforced with a whopping 20 military grade obstacles

To raise money for my son’s school 💕 Blake is now 6! Can you believe it !

Would you like to join us in making a difference? We're raising funds for Friends of Barrow School, and every donation helps

If you are in a position to very kindly make any donation that would be greatly appreciated

Thank you in advance for supporting a cause that means so much to us.

💕😊

Here is the link if you are able to make a donation
