Firefly Hair Design

As you are all now probably aware, we have closed the doors at Firefly for the final time today.
So I would like to now take the opportunity to explain to you all, so as to quash any rumours that may be circulating.

We have made the difficult decision to close- not through having to, but as a personal decision.
So I will be as honest and upfront with you all to why we have shut up shop.
The stresses involved of running a business have taken their toll on our personal life, and we decided that was more important than any business venture. Also, with a few key members of staff following their own dreams and flying the coup of the firefly nest, the thoughts of taking more of a back seat would not be possible for the foreseeable future while we build up new team members.
So although it would have been possible for us continue trading, I didn't want to sacrifice more time and energy, that may ultimately cost me more emotionally in the long run.
That really is the long and short of it!

It has been a very hard decision to make and I do feel as though I am letting down an awful lot of you. Without your continued support and custom over the last 8 years, we would never have been as successful as we were.
For that I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Also, I want to thank the Firefly team for all of your hard work and dedication, which made Firefly such a thriving business and lovely place to work!

I have many a mixed feeling about it all I can assure you of that, but my gut feeling is that it is a necessary decision, that will hopefully open another door when the time is right.

I will miss each and everyone of you, but I will be back! I don't intend on this being the end of my hairdressing dream- I'm still as passionate about that side of things!
But for now, I will be taking a break.

People keep telling me "things happen for a reason" so I'm putting my trust in that!

So today we wished goodbye to Ella as she embarks on an exciting new chapter in her life.
You have been fantastic and will be a great asset in your new job.

Well done to all the girls and guys who took part in South Devon College Alternative Hair Show yesterday.
It was extremely hard being a judge- some amazing creative talent out there!!
We are so lucky to have an industry that seems to be flowing with a new breed of inspirational young stylists!!
Also a special mention to Chloe Porter, one of our junior team members, who took third place!!!
