Hi everyone, I take it you’ve probably heard the news by now, but that’s me officially cut down to one day a week in the barbershop.

This honestly wasn’t an easy decision for me. My full intention was always to keep doing barbering alongside SMP, but after doing barbering for the past 13 years, and working 6 days a week for the last 3 years, it’s eventually caught up with me a bit.

Trying to run both businesses at the same time has been hard physically and mentally, and it’s started affecting both the growth of DC Scalp Micro and my work/life balance. So after a lot of thinking, I’ve decided from now on I’ll only be working Thursdays in the shop.

Next month the shop turns 10 years old, which honestly blows my mind. Some of yous have sat in my chair since the very beginning and over the years a lot of clients have turned into mates.

I’ve had clients that have came to me every single week for years right through the full time the shop’s been opened, and honestly yous know who yous are. I want to thank yous even more because a client becomes a friend quicker than a friend becomes a client. That’s something I’ve always believed.

The shop isn’t going anywhere though. The boys will still be doing their thing as normal and I’ve got Stephen starting who’s hopefully gonna help take over some of my clients moving forward, and Luke should still have plenty availability as well.

The SMP side of things has got really busy recently and I genuinely feel like this is the right move for me moving forward, not just career-wise but personally as well. I need to get a bit of balance back in life again and put more focus into growing DC Scalp Micro properly.

There’s also gonna be some massive announcements next year, so keep an eye out over the next while 👀

Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person that’s supported me and the shop over the years. It genuinely means the world to me.

Due to continued demand and the shop being fully booked daily, we are now looking for a new barber to join the team at DCB.

I’m now focusing heavily on the SMP studio and reducing his barbering days, there are clients waiting daily for appointments and cancellations.

We’re looking for a confident, modern barber who can handle both long and short styles and is comfortable with anything that walks through the door.
