From starting out in a spare bedroom to owning a nail salon, Sarah Smith’s career in the nail industry has been a whirlwind of education, excitement and expansion. “My nail journey started in a spare bedroom at home in 2022,” reveals nail tech & salon owner, Sarah. “But as my client base increased – along with my collection of gels, glitters and other nail products, I quickly outgrew the space.” After deciding that her spare bedroom no longer met her business’ needs, Sarah’s first move was to a summerhouse in her garden. However, as this too started to feel cramped, she set her sights on a dedicated nail space. Nail Envy (@nail_envy_stanley), Sarah’s current studio, is a purpose-made salon and training academy. “The space was built from scratch, which took several months from concept to completion,” she reminisces. “Like any building project, there were plenty of challenges along the way, but seeing the vision come to life made it all worthwhile.” Sarah had a strong a desire to create a space that feels ‘welcoming, professional and relaxing for both clients and students’ – themes that are translated into the décor. “The studio is bright and airy with soft colours, flowers, greenery and lots of storage,” she shares.
