Why Do Toes Curl Into “Hammer Toes”?
Hammer toe is a deformity in which a toe (most commonly the 2nd or 3rd toe) becomes permanently bent at the joint and gradually loses its ability to straighten.
4 Main Causes
1. Tight Footwear
Shoes with a narrow toe box, high heels, or a tight fit compress the toes and force them into an unnatural position.
2. Bunions (Hallux Valgus)
As the big toe drifts toward the smaller toes, it pushes the neighbouring toes upward, leading to deformity.
3. Flat Feet
Changes in foot biomechanics cause muscle imbalance and excessive tension, which can pull the toes into a bent position.
4. Foot Anatomy
If the second toe is longer than the first (often called a Greek foot), it is more likely to be subjected to pressure and trauma inside footwear.
Stages of Hammer Toe
• Flexible Stage: The toe can still be straightened manually and is easier to correct.
• Rigid Stage: The joint becomes stiff and fixed in a bent position.
Recommendation
For this type of deformity, we recommend using custom-made silicone offloading devices to reduce pressure and improve comfort.
Foot health practitioners and podologists can create these. The two materials can be mixed to achieve a medium firmness tailored to the client’s needs.
Don’t delay treatment: while the joint remains flexible, it is much easier to slow down or prevent further progression of the deformity.

✨ Behind every treatment is a story ✨
People often see the finished result — healthy nails, smooth skin, pain-free steps.
What they don’t see are the hours spent studying, attending courses, researching new techniques, investing in professional equipment, and constantly improving to provide the safest and most effective care possible.
For me, foot care is not just a job. It’s helping someone walk comfortably again, regain confidence, and solve problems they’ve often been struggling with for months or even years.
And teaching? That’s another passion of mine. Watching my students grow, gain confidence, and build successful careers makes every hour of preparation worthwhile.
Thank you to every client who trusts me with their foot health and every student who chooses to learn with me. Your support allows me to keep doing what I truly love. ❤️

Sometimes it feels like I’m living several lives at once.
In one life, I’m a mother.
In another, I’m a business owner.
And in yet another, I’m a teacher, a practitioner, and a creator.
Sometimes all of those roles exist in a single day.
There are days when I feel exhausted. Days when the weight of responsibility feels heavier than I can carry. People often see the results, but they don’t see the sleepless nights, the doubts, the difficult decisions, or the constant question I ask myself:
“Am I doing enough? Am I on the right path?”
And then a client walks out feeling confident again after years of hiding their feet.
A student messages me to say she finally had the courage to start her own journey or achieved something she once thought was impossible.
Or I hold a JAFÈRA product in my hands and remember how much love, passion, faith, and hard work went into creating it.
And in those moments, I remember why I do all of this.
My clients have never been just clients.
My students have never been just students.
JAFÈRA has never been just a brand.
They are all part of my story.
Part of my heart.
Maybe that’s why I still love what I do so deeply.
Not because of titles.
Not because of achievements.
Not because of numbers.
But because of people.
Because I have the privilege of helping, teaching, creating, and leaving something meaningful behind.
And if I had to start all over again, I would choose this path every single time. ❤️
Because one of life’s greatest blessings is to love what you do — and to see that passion make a difference in someone else’s life. ✨🤍👣
