Oh my gosh, Lily’s wedding morning was just perfect.

If I could bottle up this day and recreate it over and over again, I absolutely would.

She got married at Normanton Park Gardens Celestial View, which was a brand new venue for me and one I already can’t wait to return to. The place was incredible. The decor was so quirky and different, and it has to be one of the best getting ready spaces I’ve ever worked in.

It’s so underestimated how much easier it is to do your job when you have the right setup. Plenty of space, amazing natural light and a calm environment make such a difference to the whole morning.

And then there was Lily.

From the moment she sat in my chair at her trial to the wedding day itself, the vibes were immaculate. She knew exactly what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to ask for it. Her brief was snatched, sharp and sculpted, and once I got over the fact she didn’t want her bronzer blended at her trial 😂 we were good to go.

Seeing how happy she was when she looked in the mirror made it all worth it.

This keeps the funny bronzer comment in but makes it sound more like a story and less like a list of observations.

When Elle sat in my chair and told me she wanted blue eyeshadow, I was a little unsure 😅

So colour used to be my thing back in the day. Bright eyeshadows, bold looks and experimenting.

But these days, most of the makeup requests I get are soft glam and neutral tones, so it’s not often I get asked to reach for the blues anymore.

And now I’m wondering why, because look how gorgeous this is 💙

It’s such a refreshing change from the neutrals we usually see and somehow manages to be so wearable and flattering all at the same time. It suits her perfectly and reminds me that sometimes stepping outside of our comfort zone pays off.

So this is your sign… and definitely mine… to not be so scared of a bit of colour.

My birthday isn’t actually until Sunday, but surely we all agree that birthdays are a whole week event rather than a one day event? 🎉

And it’s filled with what I do best… lots of work 🤣
And Saturday I’ll be spending the morning with Laura, one of our lovely brides, & occasion makeups in the studio. And with my birthday falling on a Sunday this year, I’ll actually be getting a day off for a change after spending the last few years working on it 🎂

And I’m taking full advantage of the fact that I can only really justify posting some of these photos once a year.

Roll on Sunday for a lie in, cake, celebrating and not counting a single calorie 😆

Vicky is one of those really annoying people who just looks good all the time.

She’s also one of the faces that has appeared on my page alot over the years. I haven’t posted her for a little while, but photos from her wedding a few years used to get shown to me so regularly!

The thing with Vicky is that she suits absolutely every makeup style. I genuinely don’t think we’ve ever done a look on her that hasn’t worked. Whatever she chooses, she totally pulls it off.

That being said, this is definitely her go to look and one she comes back to time and time again.

Oh my God, how could I forget this one?

You can imagine my slight panic when Lauren asked if I could do her makeup for a fancy dress party… as the Dragon from Shrek
Not exactly your standard makeup appointment.

But I absolutely loved creating this look. Those scales were created using fishnet tights stretched over Lauren’s head, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do when you’re turning someone into a dragon!

Seeing it all come together with the full costume and wig was so good! Definitely one of the most unusual requests I’ve had over the years, but also one of the most fun.

Right in the thick of wedding season now and honestly we are so grateful to be so busy across every aspect of the business 🤍

A lot of people know us for bridal and occasion makeup, but many don’t actually realise that we offer so many beauty treatments in the studio too. The reason we don’t post about them loads is simply because we are normally fully booked with them already. Any odd last minute spaces usually get popped onto our stories, but they’re sometimes very few and far between.

We’re also fully booked this Saturday for makeup, which is your sign to get booked in as soon as the diary opens if you’ve got an event coming up ✨

Our diary opens 2 months ahead, and those peak dates go very quickly, especially Fridays and Saturdays during wedding season.

Always a pleasure having the gorgeous Lily Marie in my chair. I’ve done her makeup enough times now that I just know exactly how she likes it, full glam, bronzed skin, sharp contour, all the definition and plenty of drama ✨

And can we just appreciate how unreal those blue eyes look with this makeup? She honestly pulls off glam so well.

One of my favourite parts of this job is hearing what everyone’s got planned when they sit in the chair 🤍

Some people are heading to weddings, some are off on nights out, birthdays, events, holidays… and this one was for a fitness shoot, and doesn’t she look incredible.

I think people assume makeup appointments are just for the obvious occasions, but over the years I’ve realised people book in for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes it’s for photos, confidence, content, a big day, or sometimes they just want to feel good and make a bit more effort for something exciting.

And to be fair, any excuse for having your makeup done works for me 😂

The studio has been non stop lately and the next few weeks are looking very full already. Between bridal bookings, occasion makeup and all the early morning starts, we’re deep into our busiest time of year.
