Many traditional sunscreens contain chemical filters such as avobenzone, which can react with hair extensions and cause discolouration — especially with lighter blondes. This is what can lead to extensions turning pink, peachy or brassy over time.

This reaction often happens when sunscreen comes into contact with minerals found in water, sweat or swimming pools and transfers onto the hair.

Mineral sunscreens work differently. Instead of absorbing into the skin, they sit on top of it, making them far less likely to transfer onto your extensions or affect the colour.

If you want to protect your investment, keep your blonde bright and maintain the longevity of your extensions, mineral suncream is the safer option 🤍

Look for mineral SPFs containing:
• Zinc Oxide
• Titanium Dioxide
