✨ 10 YEARS OF MAKEUP! ✨ (it will be a long post🙈)

This September marks 10 years since I started doing makeup professionally.

I’ve always been an artistic soul, but makeup? Never in a million years did I think I would end up doing this. And looking back at my teenage years… let’s just say there was absolutely no indication of any makeup talent whatsoever! 😂

Then, in September 2016, life suddenly took a very unexpected turn. I received an awful diagnosis, and it sent me into a very dark place. I was struggling with depression and needed something — anything — to take my mind away from what was happening.

A friend of mine wanted me to stop thinking of it even for a moment. She said her friend needed her makeup done and said, “You’re quite good with your own makeup — could you help her?”

After a very long hesitation, I finally agreed.

That girl was happy with her makeup. ❤️

A few weeks later, I received the most wonderful news — there was no cancer. 🙏❤️

And just a week after that, I started getting enquiries about makeup. That same happy girl had recommended me to her friends… and suddenly people were asking me to do their makeup!

After turning down a few enquiries, I eventually thought, “Actually… why not?”

And that’s how it all started.

Ten years later, I’ve done so many makeups, been part of so many wedding mornings, shared countless special moments, and — perhaps most importantly — made so many genuine friendships along the way. ❤️

What started during one of the darkest moments of my life became something that brought me so much joy, confidence, creativity and so many wonderful people.

And to all the amazing ladies who have supported me, recommended me, booked me, trusted me, and kept coming back — thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I genuinely wouldn’t be here 10 years later without you.

Here’s to the last 10 years… and to all the beautiful faces, wedding mornings, laughter, friendships and memories still to come. 🥂✨

You may have noticed I’ve been a little quiet lately, and there’s a very special reason why…

I’ve been busy preparing for my own big day — my wedding! 👰‍♀️✨

Going through the bridal journey myself has given me a completely new perspective. From the planning and little details to the excitement, nerves and all the decisions that come with being a bride — I’ve experienced it all firsthand. And honestly, it has given me so many more ideas, insights and inspiration that I can’t wait to bring into my work. 🤍

Now that I’m back, I’m so excited to share everything I’ve learnt with my future brides and help make your bridal experience even more special, relaxed and beautiful.

And… I may have a few little surprises coming over the next few days especially for my brides 👀✨

I’ll also be sharing all about my own wedding makeup & hair in my next post — what I chose, what I loved, and everything in between!
