As well as recipes in my new book I share my natural approach to everyday life. Being in nature everyday is essential for us all.

I have included some archive photos in my book which have really made me aware how huge an influence my childhood has had on me.

I never thought that I would be living near the same Devon coastline as we came as children and therefore living here after moving from Hampshire less than two years ago feels very reassuring.

To quote Guy Watson, the founder of Riverford and the man who first put ReRooted on the map; ‘I just didn’t want to use those chemicals with skulls and crossbones on their containers…there is no safe level for a nervous system disrupting herbicide…’, and (I paraphrase), ‘organic food is the real cost of food, choose non-organic and someone or something will be paying for it somewhere down the line’.

I remember being made fun of when I came home from the supermarket in my college days with my organic food. To me this is normal food and always has been. My top priority is spending more on food if it means organic over going out.

My love of essential oils is a huge part of my everyday. My plant based medicine. Alongside my baking I educate about low tox living using the oils.
🌱
I have used these for our family as our primary source of healthcare for eight years. I use just two cleaning products that I make incorporating oils. Because of the purity of the dōTERRA oils it means I can put them in my bakes as they are safe to ingest. This really does make my bakes stand out with the flavours I create using essential oils.

I remember visiting the Hairy B when I first ever went to Totnes a few years ago, I was so happy to come across such a cool little cafe that did all that I loved.

Would you believe me if I said when this cake was about to be photographed we had a complete disaster and a massive chunk was broken from the top and the side badly knocked.

I can just about smile about it now but at the time it felt a complete disaster..!
