Treating oily and acne prone skin can be a mine field when choosing what products to use. So I’ve broken it down in three easy steps for you.

Oily skin occurs when glands in the skin make too much sebum, sebum is the waxy substance that seals in moisture. Genetics, hormones and the condition of the skins barrier can all be factors in oily skin. However, Oil is vital for keeping the skin healthy, but too much sebum can sometimes lead to clogged pores and acne. Choosing the right products and routine is a delicate balance between reducing sebum, treating acne and maintaining the integrity of the skins barrier.

🌿 Step one CLEANSE - depending on the severity of your symptoms you want to choose a cleanser that foams and contains ingredients like salicylic acid and Niacinamide. Avoid scrubbing and over exfoliating to ensure you maintain the integrity of your skins barrier.

🌿 Step Two TREATMENT - Again depending on the severity of your symptoms you want to look for toners that contain salicylic acid and green tea for mild symptoms, retinols for moderate symptoms and retinaldehyde for sever symptoms. Retinaldehyde is the strongest retinoid you can purchase without prescription. You want to start with a low percentage and build your tolerance, you should speak to a skin professional if in doubt.

Before and directly after Mesotherapy injection, microneedling and LED green light therapy…

🪴 What’s the goal? - my client has hyperpigmentation caused by UV damage, premature aging as a result of not regularly wearing SPF and excessive use of sun beds in the past, resulting in loss of volume, more pronounced lines and wrinkles, textured and dehydrated skin. We want to reduce pigmentation, plump and hydrate the skin and induce collagen and elastin to reduce premature signs of aging.

🪴 What did she have ? - Using bio revitalisation Mesotherapy solution containing low molecular hyaluronic acid, DNA molecules and packed with vitamins, minerals and enzymes we injected the solution into areas that needed it more, under and around the eyes and around the mouth area. Tiny amounts of the meso solution are placed directly under the skin. My clients skin was very dehydrated so in total we used 4ml, 1.5ml meso injections and 2.5 microneedled into the skin at depth of between 0.25 to 0.75 mm and finished with 20 minutes Green LED light therapy. Green LED light therapy reduces dark spots and hyperpigmentation by decreasing the production of melanocytes, the melanin forming cells found in the lower level of the dermis.

🪴 Cost - £30 per ml we used 4 in total = £120 plus £20 for the LED light session - total cost £140 for this treatment (price depends on the products and treatments plan per individual client as everyone is different)

🪴 How many sessions- a minimum of 3, 4 weeks apart, some people may require more but this depends on age, lifestyle factors like smoking and drinking, and the quality of the skin to begin with.
