🩸 FACIAL ANATOMY MATTERS

One of the most important parts of being an aesthetics practitioner isn’t just knowing where to inject — it’s understanding what lies beneath the skin.

The face has an incredibly complex network of arteries, veins, nerves, muscles and different tissue planes. These structures can vary significantly from person to person, which is why a thorough understanding of facial anatomy is essential before performing any injectable treatment.

💉 Injection depth matters.
The depth at which a product is placed can influence the structures encountered, the way the product behaves within the tissue and the overall treatment outcome.

Understanding the relevant tissue planes and vascular anatomy allows practitioners to make informed decisions about technique and risk management.

🩸 And what about bruising?
Bruising can happen even when a treatment is performed correctly. Needles and cannulas can encounter small blood vessels, and individual factors such as vascular anatomy, medication, supplements and skin sensitivity can all influence bruising.

A bruise doesn’t automatically mean something has gone wrong — but understanding why bruising can occur is an important part of being a responsible practitioner.

For me, aesthetics isn’t simply about injecting. It’s about anatomy, education, assessment, precision and knowing the limitations of your own practice.
