This beautiful result is a great example of the uniqueness of lips with each individual, and how technique is soooo important each and every time ♥️

I am in love with this result, but these lips required a different approach. The round muscle that spans around the mouth, the Obicularis Oris, was hyperactive in this case. This means it continually tries to tuck and curl the top lip in and under. This was something my client was always conscious of and really wanted to try and subtly correct. She wanted more volume, symmetry and sharper definition to the border.

Using appropriate injection techniques was key here in achieving this gorgeous result that enhanced her natural features, without changing her appearance. Goal achieved 🤍✨

Let’s be really HONEST. This post feels quite exposed, but I’m okay with that!

The thing is, I’ve recently had a flare up of peri-oral dermatitis, something I’ve suffered with on and off for 15 years ⛔️ This isn’t the worst flare up I’ve had, but it’s still hard. And believe it or not, there’s a massive unspoken pressure as a skin practitioner, to have this picture perfect skin ✨, how can I provide skin treatments for my clients when mines looking like this? 😪

But here’s the thing, 👉🏼skin doesn’t care. Skin reacts, it flares, it changes, and often it’s out of our control. Practioner or not, skin will behave however it wants to regardless.

This is why it’s important to share 🫶🏼 I see the unattainable beauty standards that flood our screens every day. But the reality is, nobody has perfect skin all the time, even with a wealth of product and treatment knowledge at their finger tips! If anyone tells you different, they’re lying!
