Let’s talk about something many skin therapists experience… but rarely say out loud.
Imposter syndrome.
That feeling that maybe you don’t know enough.
That someone else is more qualified.
That one day a client will ask a question you can’t answer.
Almost every skin therapist has felt this at some point in their career.
Not because they aren’t good at what they do…
But because skin is complex.
New treatments appear.
New ingredients launch.
New trends flood social media.
And suddenly it can feel like everyone else understands more than you do.
But here’s the truth.
Confidence in this industry doesn’t come from doing more treatments.
It comes from understanding the skin.
The therapists who feel the most confident in clinic are usually the ones who have invested time in building their knowledge of:
• skin physiology
• skin conditions
• treatment strategy
• how the skin actually behaves
Because when you understand the why behind the skin, you stop second guessing yourself.
And you start thinking like a skin professional.
Education isn’t just about gaining certificates.
It’s about gaining the confidence to walk into a consultation and know you understand the skin in front of you.
And that’s exactly what Skin School was created to help therapists do.

Polynucleotides are one of the most talked about treatments in aesthetics right now.
But as a skin professional, the real question isn’t “Is this treatment popular?”
It’s “Do I truly understand how this treatment works?”
Polynucleotides sit within the world of regenerative ageing treatments designed to stimulate the skin’s own repair and regeneration processes rather than simply masking signs of ageing.
These treatments work at a cellular level to support:
• fibroblast activity
• tissue repair
• collagen stimulation
• skin quality and resilience
Which means they aren’t just about treating wrinkles…
They’re about improving the overall health and function of the skin.
For therapists and aesthetic practitioners, understanding regenerative treatments like polynucleotides is becoming increasingly important.
Even if you don’t currently offer injectable treatments in clinic, you should still understand:
✨ how they work
✨ who they are suitable for
✨ how they fit into a treatment plan
✨ how they complement other skin therapies
Because modern skin clinics are no longer built around single treatments.
They’re built around strategic treatment planning.
And that starts with knowledge.
Inside Skin School, we teach therapists to understand the science behind the treatments shaping the future of skin.
Because when you understand skin properly, you stop following trends…
and start making clinical decisions.

At some point in your career, something shifts.
You stop thinking like a beauty therapist…
and you start thinking like a skin specialist.
It’s not about doing more treatments.
It’s about how you see the skin.
Beauty therapy often focuses on the treatment itself.
The facial.
The peel.
The device.
The protocol.
But a skin specialist looks at things differently.
They ask deeper questions.
What is happening in the skin?
What mechanisms are driving this condition?
What is the skin trying to do?
What treatment strategy will actually support this skin long-term?
Because treating skin isn’t about performing a service.
It’s about understanding biology, behaviour and skin function.
This shift in thinking is what separates therapists who simply perform treatments… from those who build reputations as true skin experts.
And that shift almost always starts with education.
When you understand skin physiology, skin conditions and treatment strategy on a deeper level, your entire approach to clinic changes.
Your consultations change.
Your treatment plans change.
Your results improve.
Inside Skin School, this is exactly the mindset we help therapists develop.
Because the future of this industry isn’t built on trends.
It’s built on knowledge.

Most therapists are taught how to treat acne.
Very few are taught how to truly understand it.
And this is where so many acne treatment plans go wrong.
Because acne isn’t just a surface condition.
It’s the result of multiple processes happening inside the skin and inside the body.
Sebum production.
Follicular keratinisation.
Bacterial activity.
Inflammation.
Hormonal influence.
All interacting at the level of the pilosebaceous unit.
If we only focus on what we see on the surface the breakouts, congestion, inflammation we miss the bigger picture.
Treating acne properly means understanding the internal mechanisms driving it.
Why is sebum overproduced?
Why is the follicle becoming blocked?
Why is inflammation escalating?
What lifestyle, hormonal or environmental factors are contributing?
Only when we understand these processes can we build a strategic treatment plan that actually works.
Because successful acne treatment isn’t about throwing products or treatments at the skin.
It’s about understanding what the skin is doing and why.
And that level of understanding is exactly what we teach inside Skin School.
Because the best skin therapists don’t just treat acne…
They understand it.

If you want to build real authority on social media, stop focusing on posting treatments.
Start focusing on teaching.
The therapists who stand out online today aren’t just showing before-and-afters or treatment videos.
They are educating their audience.
They explain skin conditions.
They break down treatments.
They share knowledge their clients and followers can actually learn from.
And this does something incredibly powerful.
It builds trust.
When people learn something from you, they begin to see you differently.
Not just as someone who performs treatments…
but as someone who understands skin.
And that’s where authority comes from.
Education positions you as the professional who:
• understands the science behind skin
• can explain complex topics clearly
• has knowledge worth listening to
It shifts your content from promotion to expertise.
Because in a crowded industry, the professionals who lead are the ones who teach, not just sell.
Inside Skin School, we encourage therapists to deepen their skin knowledge so they can confidently educate their clients and audiences.
Because the more you understand skin, the more naturally you become the trusted voice people turn to.

Chemical peels are one of the most effective tools we have for treating acne.
But only when they’re used strategically.
Too often, therapists think of peels as a quick fix for breakouts.
In reality, chemical peels are a treatment that works by targeting some of the key mechanisms involved in acne development.
When used correctly, they can help:
• accelerate cellular turnover
• reduce follicular blockage
• regulate excess oil production
• support the clearing of congestion
• reduce inflammation within the skin
But not every acne skin should be treated in the same way.
The type of peel you choose, the strength, and the frequency of treatment should always be guided by a deeper understanding of:
✨ the type of acne present
✨ the level of inflammation
✨ barrier health
✨ the client’s overall skin behaviour
Because acne isn’t just about what you see on the surface.
It’s about understanding what’s happening within the pilosebaceous unit and selecting treatments that support the skin’s recovery without creating further irritation or barrier disruption.
When therapists truly understand acne physiology, chemical peels become a strategic tool, not just another treatment on the menu.
And that level of understanding is exactly what we focus on inside Skin School.
Because great acne treatment starts with knowledge.

If you want to build long-term client loyalty, the secret isn’t more treatments…
It’s expertise.
Clients don’t stay with a therapist for years simply because of a facial or a device.
They stay because they trust the person treating their skin.
When a client feels that you truly understand their skin, their concerns, their triggers, their long-term goals the relationship shifts from a simple appointment to something much more valuable.
You become their trusted skin professional.
This is where loyalty is built.
Not through discounts.
Not through trends.
But through knowledge.
When you understand skin conditions, skin physiology and treatment strategy on a deeper level, your consultations become more meaningful.
Your treatment plans become more personalised.
And your clients begin to see you as the person they trust with their skin long term.
Because great skin results aren’t created in one appointment.
They’re built through consistent, informed treatment planning over time.
And that’s exactly the level of thinking we encourage inside Skin School.
Because the therapists who build the strongest, most loyal client bases are the ones who truly understand the skin they’re treating.

LED light therapy is widely used in skin clinics…
But understanding which wavelength to use and why is what separates a treatment from a clinical strategy.
Two of the most commonly used wavelengths in skin therapy are blue light and red light, and while both are valuable, they serve very different purposes.
Blue LED (around 415nm) is primarily used for acne-prone skin.
It works by targeting Cutibacterium acnes (the bacteria associated with acne). When exposed to blue light, compounds within the bacteria produce reactive oxygen species that help destroy the bacteria.
This makes blue light particularly useful for:
• active acne
• inflammatory breakouts
• reducing bacterial load within the follicle
However, acne isn’t only about bacteria.
Inflammation also plays a huge role.
This is where red LED (around 630–660nm) becomes important.
Red light penetrates deeper into the skin and works by supporting:
• cellular repair
• fibroblast activity
• collagen production
• reduction in inflammation
This makes it valuable for:
• calming inflamed acne
• supporting healing
• improving skin recovery
In many acne treatment plans, both wavelengths are used together as part of a multi-layered approach.
Because effective skin treatments aren’t about choosing one tool…
They’re about understanding how the skin behaves and selecting the right therapy for the right purpose.
And that’s exactly the level of thinking we focus on inside Skin School.
Because when therapists truly understand skin science, treatments stop being trends and start becoming strategic decisions.
