This client had her hair extensions fitted 7 months ago using one of our lightest blonde shades. As many of you know lighter blonde hair is more delicate due to the extra processing it goes through, so it doesn’t usually last as long as darker shades.
She is the perfect example of how proper aftercare can make all the difference. 🤩
Not only are her extensions still looking beautifully fresh but the ends are still full and healthy with no noticeable colour discolouration. Her hairdresser regularly refreshes her blonde with toners and using professional shampoo has also helped to minimise colour fading.
She has also just returned from a hot holiday where she took extra care to protect her extensions by keeping them out of direct sunlight where possible and avoiding contact with SPF, as sunscreen can cause blonde extensions to discolour.
Her aftercare routine includes:
• Using only professional hair care products.
• Washing her hair just once a week.
• Keeping heat styling to a minimum, she usually wears her hair in plaits to create effortless waves.
• Applying hair oil regularly to keep the hair hydrated and prevent it from drying out.
Hair extensions can absolutely make your daily styling routine easier but they do require the right aftercare. That’s the secret to keeping them looking beautiful for as long as possible.
