Injectable anti-wrinkle medication is a Prescription Only Medicine (POM), which means there should be an appropriate prescribing process before treatment takes place.

Before a prescription is issued, you should have a face-to-face consultation with a qualified prescriber, who has personally assessed you and decided whether treatment is clinically suitable.

This isn’t simply a policy I have chosen to put in place at Avani. It is part of the standard of safe and responsible prescribing that should be followed wherever prescription-only injectable treatments are being provided.

Your consultation allows the prescriber to consider your medical history, current medication, previous treatment, contraindications, potential risks and whether treatment is appropriate for you.

At Avani, I am both your practitioner and an Independent Nurse Prescriber.

This means I personally complete your consultation, clinical assessment and prescribing decision before treatment where a prescription is required.

If you’re new to Avani, or it has been more than six months since I last assessed you, a face-to-face consultation will therefore be required before your treatment appointment.

This process is an important part of ensuring treatment is prescribed safely, appropriately and specifically for you.
