Post-meditation breakfast on sunday; bacon sandwiches with plenty of brown sauce. Yeah, I did need two of them. Dunno what it is about meditation but I come home STARVING. obviously connecting with a higher consciousness burns them calories right up.

Finished object - baby shawl from crochet at play by - which i feel like was on and off my hook in the blink of an eye. Made in some lovely cotton dk blend that I bought in the sale eons ago. This is getting wrapped up as part of baby frances' birthday presents - it feels like it's crept up on me out of nowhere.

Love the patterns in this book though; so easy to follow and so beautiful; plus I'm casually learning new skills - small cables in this case.

Pork, peanut and pineapple penang round two, with potato starch noodles. Absolutely spot on delicious, and obviously ready in minutes. Devoured on my lap while watching 2021 gossip girl (I can't say I dribble over the clothes as much as I did the og Blair and Serena days, but the plot is just as juicy as ever.

My pineapple pieces for the curry came from our neighbour cherie who brought us goodies from the Fareham pantry.

Masala dusted lamb steak with braised spring greens and potato and cauliflower roasted in turmeric, cumin, coriander and chilli. I had this on Sunday night; and I do like to make a bit of a fuss of myself on Sunday nights, when I have the opportunity.

I feel good that I am back to cooking for and nurturing myself- it's a pretty essential process to my self worth for two reasons: firstly, it's nice just to get on with something simple that I happen to be good at; and secondly it's about telling myself that I am valuable and worth treating with care.

The lamb and the potatoes were from and would otherwise have gone to landfill.

It's times when I'm skint that I appreciate having bought myself a subscription the most. This one was lovely, full of eco-friendly products. Instead of a box there was a .bags , and the products inside included a lavender hyaluronic acid mist, a complete facial, and a papaya hair mask. So despite holding the purse strings tightly I can still go hell for leather on the self care.

Which is necessary at the moment, because I had yet more stressful news yesterday. There are things I can do about this one; so I don't feel as powerless over it, but my life does feel like emotional whack-a-mole at the moment and I have zero stamina, so I'm having to be really careful with myself.

Pork, pineapple and peanut penang curry. Try saying that fast, fu***ng hell. With red and green peppers and spring greens, plus plenty of white rice.

I used paste, and my pineapple was actually tinned; our neighbour cherie goes to the pantry in Fareham and brings us the odd bit and bob, including tinned pineapple. So fu***ng good, and so quick to make. I could eat curry until the cows come home.
