Cognito Spa - The Balm Boutique

This afternoon I packed up the very last Cognito Spa order.

I thought I’d feel sad closing this chapter… but if I’m really honest, what I feel most is relief.

For a long while now, my heart hasn’t quite been in it. I went back and forth a lot, trying to decide whether to keep going or let it go - and it’s only now, with the orders finished that I can really feel how much space it was taking up. Not just physically, but mentally too.

Letting go feels like breathing out after holding my breath for a long time.

My back is already grateful. And while I’ll always appreciate what that chapter gave me, I definitely won’t miss lugging heavy parcels to the Post Office, clearing up endless oil spills, or finding tiny bits of scrub in places they absolutely should not be 😅

So what’s next?

First up, a proper declutter and reset of my workspace - turning it back into a cosy little snug/office as we get ready to put the house back on the market. A fresh space for a fresh season.

I’m also going to be giving the salon supplier directory website a proper overhaul. It’s been quietly running along in the background for a while now (well, it's been more like a slow bicycle race) and, if I’m honest, it’s had less attention than it's deserved over the last year or so.

Product and supplier recommendations still pop up in the beauty groups all the time, so it feels like the right moment to turn it into a really useful, go-to reference point for salon and beauty businesses - somewhere you can actually trust when you’re looking for tried-and-tested suggestions.

I’m also playing around with a new idea for the salon/beauty world that uses modern tech and AI behind the scenes to help your business run more smoothly, boost income, and take a bit of the mental load off. Early days, but very exciting.

Hi everyone, just a quick update on orders.... some were posted out the other day (hopefully you should have received them by now) and 5 more biggish parcels went out today.

I've got 5 massive boxes currently waiting to get booked in for collection on Monday - they're big and heavy so I don't fancy doing battle with them all getting them to the PO lol.

I still have 2 or 3 smaller orders to do (waiting on more peppermint eo for the Peppermint Tea) and hoping to get them all done and dusted by Monday or Tuesday.

Then I have 50 white label scrubs to make up and another 20 for another customer.

If I have any ingredients/flavours/labels left by the end of next week I'll post on here what's left, in case anyone missed out ordering last week.
