As a skin practitioner, people often assume I have perfect skin.

The reality is my skin changed significantly in my late 30s and early 40s. I developed rosacea, became more reactive, and had to learn how to look after my skin without flaring my rosacea up

The improvements in these photos didn’t come from a miracle product, a super complicated routine or the latest skincare trend.

They came from understanding my skin, working on reducing inflammation, supporting my barrier and being consistent.

Healthy skin isn’t built by doing more.

It’s built by doing the right things consistently, for your skin.

If you’re ready to improve your skin by understanding it—not overwhelming it—send me a DM with the word RESET and let’s talk about what your skin really needs ❤️

I did a thing… 🤓

I’ve officially started my Functional Skin Health training.

The more I learn about skin, the more fascinated I become by the “why” behind it. Why some people can do all the right things and still struggle with concerns like inflammation, sensitivity, pigmentation or breakouts.

I’m excited to deepen my knowledge and explore skin health from a wider perspective so I can better support my clients.

I’ll be sharing what I learn along the way and, over the coming weeks, I’ll be looking for a few suitable case studies too 👀

If you’re new here, welcome 🤍

I’m Sam. I’m 41 (42 this month 🎂🎁) a mum of two, skincare specialist, home educator, and the face behind Sam Jane Skin Clinic

I’ve worked in the beauty industry for almost 22 years, but skin has been my main focus for the last 5 years.

In my mid to late 30s, deep in the trenches of motherhood, I suddenly looked in the mirror and felt like my skin had aged overnight.
I’d always assumed that a bit of Botox and filler would be enough, but I realised there was a much bigger piece of the puzzle I was missing.

That’s when I started taking skincare seriously.

I learned how much difference consistency makes. I discovered the importance of using the right products for your skin rather than just grabbing whatever the latest “it” product was and I saw first-hand what collagen stimulation, skin health and a long-term approach could achieve.

And that changed everything for me and my business

These days, I’m passionate about helping women understand their skin rather than simply selling them products or treatments. Because when you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, you can make decisions that actually move your skin forward.

My approach is all about healthy skin first. Supporting the skin barrier, reducing inflammation, stimulating collagen and creating results that look natural, healthy and completely like you.

Most of my clients are women in their late 30s, 40s and beyond who want to age well without looking overdone.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me home educating my children, living almost entirely on coffee, lifting weights in the gym to stay sane, or embracing my growing collection of old-lady hobbies in the garden. Give me roses, flowers and a quiet afternoon outside and I’m happy.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Whether you’ve been following for years or you’ve only just found me, thank you for being part of my little corner of the internet 💛

Life definitely looks a little different to how I imagined right now.

But i’m learning to embrace a slower pace, even when every part of me wants to be doing more, creating more and growing faster.

That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped dreaming though. If you know me, you’ll know I’m never usually too far away from a new idea. I’m just learning that not every idea needs to be acted on at 100 miles an hour.

For now, I’m focusing on what matters most right now

This result is after just ONE facial 🤍

No harsh treatments, no aggressive actives, just focusing on calming the skin, supporting the barrier, and reducing inflammation.
The redness and reactivity settled immediately, and my client couldn’t believe the difference in her skin

She genuinely thought this was just how her skin was and even assumed she needed stronger products to improve her skin.

Instead, we’ve stripped everything back and focused on skin health first. The actives can come later, but only once the skin is stronger and healthier.

If one facial can create this kind of change, imagine what a few months of the right skincare and consistent support can do ✨

More and more, I’m seeing clients who are using all the “right” products, all the trending actives and all the advice they’ve seen online, yet they’re still not getting the skin they want.

Instead, they’re dealing with sensitivity, redness, irritation and skin that just doesn’t seem happy.

The problem is that many don’t realise their skin barrier may actually be compromised.

My approach is often to strip everything right back. We focus on rebuilding a healthy, resilient skin barrier first and creating stronger, healthier skin.

Only then do we start introducing carefully selected active ingredients where they’re actually needed.

I know this can feel uncomfortable at first because we’ve been conditioned to believe that more products and stronger ingredients equal better skin.

But sometimes the reason you’re not getting your dream skin isn’t because you’re doing too little.

It’s because you’re doing too much.

If this resonates and you’re starting to wonder whether your skincare routine could be working against you, send me a message with the word SKIN and let’s chat

Lately, I’ve started to feel a real shift in the way I think about skin and aging.

When I first began to focus on skin in my business I thought aging well was just about more treatments, more correction work and “turning back the clock.” And whilst I still love regenerative treatments and natural injectables when they’re done well, the more I treat women’s skin, the more I’m realising that more isn’t always better.

So many women’s skin barriers are overwhelmed. Over-exfoliated. Inflamed. Reactive.

And I find myself now being pulled more and more towards a calmer, more supportive approach to skin health.

Less stripping.
Less fighting the skin.
More repair, resilience and long-term skin health.

And I really believe healthy skin ages better
