Today's treatment spotlight is Reflexology.

Reflexology is a gentle pressure therapy that works on the principle that reflexes on the feet correspond to all other areas of the body. Stimulating these reflexes encourages the body to heal itself, restoring and maintaining balance.

What is involved in a session:

You will be either sitting upright, reclined or lie completely flat on the massage table whichever is most comfortable to you. You will be fully clothed. Only socks and shoes are removed.
Hot towels are used to cleanse the feet and massage oil is applied.
The therapist uses their fingers, thumbs and hands to apply gentle pressure to different points on the feet. You might notice some tender points but the treatment should not be excessively painful.
A session will normally last for 60 minutes. However treatment sessions can be adapted to suit the individual.
