“Since enquiring with Joanne for my wedding make up, she had been nothing but professional and friendly throughout the whole process. The make up trial was amazing and very chilled comfy atmosphere, along with brews and goodies! Joanne made myself and my mum feel very at ease and our make up was absolutely gorgeous.

Between the trial and the wedding day I had some tweaks for my lashes I wanted and she provided a lot of options until I was happy with ones I liked that suited me.

On the wedding day it was during the heatwave, we had a lovely chilled morning and even though I was a bag of nerves and went into my quiet zone, Joanne kept checking in making sure I was ok to go and have a breather to gather my thoughts.

The final look was absolutely stunning and I received so many compliments! Considering how hot and sweaty I was, the make up stayed put all afternoon and night during 32 degree heat & dancing!

Joanne is an absolute master in what she does, the loveliest woman to speak to and I am gutted I can’t do it all over again! Highly recommend her to absolutely everyone wanting that perfection on their wedding day or any other 🩷

✨ Bridal Prep Room Essentials ✨
(as approved by the people who actually spend 45 Saturdays a year in them 😂)

✔️ Wide&long tables/desks - if not the once beautiful prep space will be filled with pop up camping tables for us to lay our kit out safely
✔️ Mirrors on walls, not sitting on the desks
✔️ No spotlights
✔️ No overhead skylights
✔️ A mix of low and high chairs that DON’T swivel
✔️ Plug sockets. Everywhere.
✔️ Bins (plural)
✔️ Natural light – but not from overhead windows or conservatories. Big windows ++
✔️ Air conditioning
✔️ Radiators we can actually control
✔️ A toilet with an actual lock on the door
✔️ Neutral wall colours
✔️ Space to walk around the chair without climbing over Auntie Sue
✔️ WiFi
✔️ Blackout curtains/blinds for when the sun decides to attack one side of the room
✔️ Somewhere for the bride’s dress to hang safely that isn’t next to a makeup kit or a hot curling tong
✔️ Somewhere for suppliers to put bags and cases that isn’t the middle of the floor
✔️ Enough room for at least 2 hair & 2 makeup stations
✔️ Lighting that can be switched off individually (not just ALL ON or PITCH BLACK)
✔️ A full-length mirror
✔️ A drinks station nearby… but nowhere near the hair and makeup stations ☕
✔️ Flooring that doesn’t send every dropped hair grip into another dimension
✔️ Ideally on the ground floor and close to the ceremony room, so the bride doesn’t have to walk 1,000 miles in her dress
✔️ A built-in sound system the bridal party can connect to… with a volume limiter for the one bridesmaid who thinks she’s DJing Glastonbury

In all seriousness, the wedding morning plays such a huge part in setting the tone for the entire day. The more comfortable everyone is, the smoother the morning runs, and nobody wants a stressed bride who’s been slowly cooked in a tiny prep space for six hours!

And when venues absolutely nail it, they deserve the praise too.
