WHAT IS YUKO HAIR STRAIGHTENING?
Yuko is a chemical process where the keratin bonds of the hair are
altered from its original state to straight form.
HOW LONG DOES THE YUKO HAIR STRAIGHTENING
PROCESS TAKE?
It takes between 3-6 hours, depending on the hair type, length and thickness.
HOW LONG DOES YUKO HAIR STRAIGHTENING LAST?
Hair that is treated with Yuko will
remain straight permanently. However, new hair will grow through with its natural texture. I recommend that you get Yuko touch-ups after 6 to 12 months, although the interval will vary depending on your natural hair texture and how quickly your hair grows out. Brazilian Blow Dry touch-ups are also recommended for regrowth to avoid further chemical treatments.
HOW SOON AFTER HAVING YUKO HAIR STRAIGHTENING CAN THE HAIR BE WASHED OR GET WET?
You can wash your hair 2-3 days after the treatment is done. Blow dry in a downward direction to maintain the straightness.
HOW DOES YUKO HAIR STRAIGHTENING WORK?
A chemical solution is used to
breakdown the protein bonds. Once the chemical has processed it is washed off. Protein based pretreatment is then applied to the hair to fill the gaps created by the first chemical and by applying heat with a flat iron on damp to dry hair it creates a permanent straight shape. A neutraliser is then applied to keep the new straight shape of the hair.
CAN I HAVE YUKO HAIR
STRAIGHTENING AND COLOUR AT THE SAME TIME?
No. Colour your hair at least 2 weeks before or after the Yuko straightening procedure. Applying both chemical treatments simultaneously will result in hair damage.
HOW IS YUKO JAPANESE HAIR STRAIGHTENING DIFFERENT FROM BRAZILIAN BLOW DRY
TREATMENT METHODS?
Yuko Japanese hair straightening permanently straightens hair by physically changing the internal structure of hair. Brazilian Blow Dry treatment temporarily coats hair with proteins to smooth the hair.
Brazilian Blow Dry treatments will wash out after 3-5 months.
