✨️ Healing Update ✨️

As many of you are aware I was admitted to hospital back in March. And the last few months have certainly been a journey ✨️ my healing is taking time with the severity of what my body has been through and here's why...

Back in April I had emergency life saving major abdominal surgery. I had severe ulcerative colitis, appendicitis and toxic megacolon. My colon kept getting bigger and got to 9cm and at 10cm it can perforate which is why I got took in for emergency surgery. Due to this I've had the whole of my large bowel removed and a permanent stoma bag fitted. Two days after surgery my life was saved again. My oxygen went down to 44 and I couldn't breathe. I had two blood clots and fluid on my lungs and ended up in intensive care. I was fed through a line in my neck as I was severely malnourished and had to have a blood transfusion and iron infusions. I weighed only 6 stone, had limited mobility and felt extremely fragile in alot of different ways.

As you can imagine my whole life has been flipped upside-down and I'm trying to navigate through challenges that are affecting me physically, emotionally and mentally. I'm still under several different consultants in different departments at the hospital who are keeping an eye on me.

I'm coping well with my new way of life. And the support that I've had from my family and friends has been amazing 💜 I've called my stoma "Angel" ✨️🤍✨️ firstly because I truly believe someone up above was looking after me for me to still be here and secondly I had a pink blanket with "Angel" on it from Disney's Lilo & Stitch and that blanket brought me alot of comfort while I was in hospital.

I'm really looking forward to getting back on my feet and back to work. However I will only start back once my body is ready for me to. My strength and stamina are still no where near where they need to be. I'd like to be back within the next two months however I can't put an accurate time frame on this.

✨️ IMPORTANT UPDATE ✨️
Just over 5 weeks ago I was discharged from hospital. I weighed only 6 stone, had limited mobility and still felt extremely fragile in alot of different ways.

In April I had emergency life saving major abdominal surgery. Two days after surgery my life was saved again and I ended up in intensive care. I had extreme weight loss, hair loss, fatigue, malnutrition and had to be tube fed. A blood transfusion and iron infusions.

My recovery since returning home is going well and the support that I've had from my family and friends has been amazing 🤍 But due to the severity of what my body has been through it's still going to take quite some time to heal ✨️ I have managed to regain my weight and my mobility is coming along. There have been a few complications along the way with more scans and tests needed. I'm still under several different consultants in different departments at the hospital who are keeping an eye on me.

Life can change in the blink of an eye so cherish every day ✨️

✨️ IMPORTANT UPDATE ✨️
After a month in hospital I'm finally home. April was certainly a month I won't forget. After having extreme weight loss, fatigue, malnutrition, emergency major abdominal surgery, blood and iron transfusions and time in ICU I will now be taking time to heal and adjust to my new way of life ✨️ this is going to take some time so please bare with me. Thank you so much for all your lovely messages of support, patience and understanding 🤍 I appreciate each and every one of you ✨️ I'll message people individually when I'm getting close to starting back up again. But please understand that I'm not in a position to do so now.

Becca would like to thank everyone for their messages of support. Her "update" a couple of days ago was written by me, her husband, to give all of her lovely clients an insight into what is happening and to reassure everyone that they haven't been forgotten.
She will make contact when she is fit and able but for now she is just constantly exhausted and needs all of her energy to heal. Thanks again for your support, understanding and patience.

✨️ IMPORTANT UPDATE ✨️
As most of you are aware I was admitted to hospital with extreme weight loss and fatigue and was discharged a couple of days later. Because of my continued deterioration I was admitted again on Sunday 5th April and have been in hospital since. I was given numerous tests and scans and due to their findings have ended up having major abdominal surgery. As you can imagine my whole life has been flipped upside-down. My condition again worsened a couple of days ago so I was admitted to ICU where I was stabilised. I'm still in ICU but am making good progress and hope to be released to a ward as soon as I'm fit. Healing is going to take time so please bare with me. I will continue to periodically update you and would like to thank you all so much for your continued support and patience.

As some of you are aware I've had to take some time out from working. Unfortunately I was admitted to hospital for a few nights. My recovery is going to take time and I cannot say when I'll be back up and running again. Thank you so much to everyone for your patience and understanding I appreciate each and every one of you ✨️🤍✨️
