Let’s talk about the thing that us girls dread the most when having hair extensions……. But it is so worth it!!

Washing your hair!!!

To keep your hair extension healthy and looking fresh you will need to be using the correct products on them, this is a really important factor when it comes to how long they will last you.

I recommend using sulphate free products, these are gentle on your extensions and will prolong the lifespan of your extensions.

Please avoid using any other products, especially mass-produced high-street brands as these contain harsh chemicals that can break down and dry out the extensions.

Your hair washing process should look like this:

- Detangle hair prior to washing ensure all knots are removed.
- Keep head upright to reduce any pulling, try to use a shower rather than a bath.
- Do not rub or twist product into hair, massage into scalp and the squeeze product into the extensions.
- Apply conditioner generously and brush through using a detangler, start from the very ends and work your way up.
- When you are finished squeeze out as much excess water as possible
- Wrap hair up washing a special hair towel, these are lighter on hair than a regular towel and prevent any pulling or discomfort.

There is no right or wrong number of times to wash your hair a week.
