Infant Massage Awareness Week begins with the heart of IAIM — supporting parents and babies through connection.

Infant massage is much more than a relaxation technique. Through loving, responsive touch, babies begin to learn important foundations for emotional wellbeing and secure attachment.

Massage also helps parents:
• understand baby cues
• build confidence
• slow down and connect
• create moments of calm together

The relationship built through these small moments can have a lasting impact far beyond infancy.

I am Becthebabymassagelady, Vice President of the International Association of Infant Massage, with over 20 years experience supporting new families.

I offer small, relaxed classes in Burghfield Common (RG7 3EL) and beyond.

Now in my 20th year as a CIMI - certified infant massage instructor, and still loving what I do to support families.
And also, now currently the Vice President of the UK Chapter, so have the added bonus of supporting other CIMIs in the UK.
We just held our annual Study Day and AGM and it was such a privilege to meet up with around 40 like-minded people, who all share the same ethos and passion for this work. 💜

The International Association of Infant Massage was officially founded in 1981 to promote infant massage globally as a tool for well-being, relationship-building, and respect. Founded by Vimala McClure, the association quickly grew as professionals and families recognized touch as a universal language.
IAIM has developed into an international network of instructors, trainers, and parents, offering a program that respects cultural differences while maintaining a shared core of values: love, listening, and support.
Today, IAIM is present in over 100 countries and remains dedicated to providing families with tools to strengthen their bonds and create more empathetic, inclusive communities.

He’ll get to stretch his legs during the “Stroke Review” which is part of our action packed Study Day for the IAIM UK Chapter, taking place tomorrow. 💜

I can’t fit any more classes in this side of Christmas 😱 as I’m busy with my role of training and facilitating practitioners as they support families across the UK with the research & evidence based home visiting programme, “Parents as First Teachers”

Celebrating 28 Years of Nurturing Touch in the UK

Happy Anniversary to the UK Chapter of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM)!

Today, 5th July 2025, we proudly celebrate 28 years of nurturing touch education, connection, and care across the United Kingdom.

Founded from the heartfelt vision of Vimala McClure, IAIM was born from the belief that every culture should benefit from the ancient art of nurturing touch. Vimala’s deep wisdom and compassion inspired a global movement rooted in love and respect.

Vimala taught us that:

“Every baby in the world should receive nurturing touch — it’s a fundamental birth-right.” –

From that vision, the International Association of Infant Massage grew into what it is today: the world’s largest and only association solely dedicated to infant massage.

As the UK Chapter, we are proud to be part of a global non-profit association committed to empowering families and professionals through respectful, evidence-based education and support.

He’s a natural in front of the camera. 😍

Even 32 degree heat didn’t put him off his massage yesterday.
