A very much delayed post ✉️
Dear followers and previous clients,
You may have noticed how absent this business have been, and frankly non- existent since earlier this year.
Due to a radical change in circumstances and life changes & chaos I couldn’t continue to pursue my Pilates and passion for helping people to get/ stay active in the way it was originally was meant to be; in a physical studio space. I think I’ve been putting off “closed for business” because it’s been weighing SO incredibly heavy on me and life really almost broke me this year. Truly. Which meant, family first (my twin boys) and everything else second; even putting out a post on social media.
As much as I believe in Pilates I also believe in vulnerability 🤎 maybe this isn’t the end of my Pilates story. I had a chance to create something wonderful and was lucky enough to have incredible, kind and strong clients / and friends along the way. Thank you for your support 🤎 I hope that EVA Pilates & Fitness can continue to live on, in a different way that it was orginally meant to. Perhaps online, or perhaps in a physical space somewhere else. I hope to stay connected and I hope all my clients know how grateful I am and that you’ve always got a friend / Pilates Instructor here. In my opinion, Pilates is the best anti-aging exercise.
Ok.. it won’t necessarily ‘beat’ aging but it can definitely help you beat some of the common signs of aging. Like decreased mobility, and decreased strength. ✨🤎
- it improves your balance (!) especially Pilates on the MOTR Roller where you regularly challenge your balance which works your core.
- Pilates will develop your flexibility. Which means that you don’t have to worry about how flexible or not you are prior to starting. Even if flexibility isn’t your top goal now it’s worth keeping in mind for our later years.
- It will improve your posture. Poor posture is most often a result of bad habits such as slouching at your desk and chair. AND, is probably the cause behind your backache, neck ache, headache, and an overall uncomfortable state of the body.
- Your core strength! I guess you all knew this but Pilates is fantastic for core strength (aka your powerhouse !). And core strength is essential for your everyday life (picking up shopping bags, children even getting out of bed!). And maybe your goals now are more defined abs but long term the above benefits are potentially life changing.
The way I see it now, the exercise we choose to do is here to make us excited and feel happy and also help us live and move with more ease for as many years as possible ✨🤎

It’s almost the end of the week. Not for me, as I teach most weekends and I love it !✨🤎

Just caught in the moment ranting about the benefits of Pilates & Fitness ..!
One of my personal favourite benefits of MOTR Pilates are (but not limited to):

✨ Fab for stimulating lymphatic flow (with all the twists and turning in all planes of movement)
✨ Great for posture and spine health
✨ Its working your DEEP stabilising muscles (especially on the MOTR Roller Reformer)
✨ It works your body without overstimulating your nervous system (meaning you feel worked out, relaxed and more alert post session) not drained!

I have added in the SHAPE Mat Pilates on Saturdays at 10.45 am ✨🤎
This is a mat based class using Pilates equipment (balls, pilates rings, light weights and bands). A flowing and balanced class working your full body focusing on posture, abs and glutes. Suitable for all levels as classes are kept small for progressions and modifications. Also suitable for pre and post natal (kindly let me know in advance) 🤎
And yes, it’s suitable for beginners too as all the Mat work allow you to build up a strong foundation ✨🤎

What to bring to your MOTR Roller Reformer class:
▫️Water bottle
▫️Grippy socks 🧦 (you don’t have to but it’s helpful!) you can find them on Amazon, Sweaty Betty. I will most likely start to stock my own in the spring.
▫️A “can do attitude” 😉
▫️Arrive 10 mins prior to class especially if it’s your first time to have a chat and fill out client registration form, discuss any injuries / previous work out and health history. Most major health concerns are covered in the online registration but I find people just “tick and go” so if you know you have an injury / health concern it’s worth emailing prior to class.
▫️Comfortable stretchy workout clothes, anything you can move freely in
▫️It should feel challenging not painful, if in doubt, always communicate to the instructor 🤎
▫️Enjoy the class ✨

MOTR (Movement on the Roller) Pilates

In the MOTR Roller Reformer Pilates classes you will

The exercise you are doing will feel different on different days. That’s exactly why I tailor the workouts to each session. Even checking things how you’re feeling and if there is anything in particular you want to focus on 🤎
In a conversation with a client yesterday we came to chat about how all consuming motherhood can be at times. It’s like being a nurse, cook, taxi driver and entertainer at the same time.
That’s why it’s vital to invest in something for yourself, may that be Pilates or something else. Something that is for you and make you feel more like you 🤎
I read a piece by a therapist and the theory goes;
If you feel more like yourself and you’ve met more of your own needs and cravings, you’ll be better equipped to withstand lack of sleep and more likely to have empathy for people around you.
I urge you to do something for yourself this week, maybe it’s Pilates maybe it’s not. Something that makes you feel content and excited ✨🤎
