A little photo outside the clinic, but one that feels quite significant to me.

After many years working in aesthetics, I’m delighted to finally see Kate Ingram Medical Aesthetics on the door. 💗

For me, aesthetics has always been about far more than appearance. It’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin, having honest conversations about what is achievable, and providing safe, professional, individualised care.

As a nurse prescriber, my nursing background and medical approach remain at the heart of everything I do. I’m incredibly proud of the clinic I’ve built and of the patients who have trusted me along the way.

Same skin… but not the same skin needs. 💙

Looking back at these teenage photos of me, I’m reminded just how much our skin changes throughout our lives.
And honestly, if I could go back and tell my teenage self one thing about skincare, it would be:

You don't need the same skincare at 16 that you need at 30, 40, 50 or 60.

Our skin is a living, changing organ. Hormones, genetics, sun exposure, lifestyle and the natural ageing process all influence how it behaves — and what it needs.

✨ TEENAGE YEARS
Skin is often influenced by hormonal changes, increased sebum production and congestion. The focus should be on gentle cleansing, appropriate moisturisation and daily SPF, rather than throwing every active ingredient at the skin!

✨ 20s & 30s
This is the time to become much more proactive about prevention.
Daily broad-spectrum SPF is essential, alongside antioxidants and ingredients that support the skin barrier and help maintain healthy collagen and elastin.

✨ 40s & 50s
Hormonal changes can have a significant effect on the skin. You may notice increased dryness, sensitivity, pigmentation, loss of firmness or changes in texture.
This is where a more targeted approach to skin renewal, pigmentation, collagen support and barrier health becomes increasingly important.

✨ 60s+
The skin generally becomes thinner, drier and slower to renew. The focus shifts towards supporting the barrier, hydration, gentle renewal, pigmentation management and protecting the skin you've got.

And this is exactly why I love the ZO Skin Health approach.
Rather than simply choosing a product because you're a certain age, ZO protocols allow us to look at what your skin is actually doing and what we want to achieve.

We can build a personalised Getting Skin Ready® foundation and then introduce targeted protocols using ingredients such as retinol, antioxidants, exfoliating acids and skin-strengthening technologies — progressing the skin gradually as it becomes stronger and more tolerant.
Because good skincare isn't about having a bathroom cabinet full of products.

It's about having the right products, in the right order, at the right time for YOUR skin.
And perhaps most importantly…
Your skin doesn't have an expiry date. It just needs different things at different stages of your life. 🤍

If you'd like to know what your skin needs now, rather than what it needed 10, 20 or 30 years ago, I'd be very happy to help you put together a personalised ZO Skin Health protocol.

Hello September 🍂
As we move out of August and into September, it’s a good time to take a little look at your skincare routine and ask yourself… is it still doing what your skin needs?
And just because summer is coming to an end, SPF doesn’t! ☀️ Keep using your SPF every day.
If you’re already following a ZO Skin Health protocol, September can be a great time to review your skin and potentially move things up a gear after the summer months.
And if you’re not already on a ZO protocol, perhaps now is the time to start. A properly tailored routine can make such a difference when it comes to getting your skin healthy, resilient and glowing.
September is all about resetting, reviewing and getting your skin ready for the months ahead. ✨
If you’d like me to take a look at your current routine and talk through what your skin might benefit from next, book your consultation and we can make a plan together. 🤍
📩 DM me to book or get in touch for an appointment.

My 1980s skincare routine… versus skincare now! 😂

Hands up if you remember Anne French cleansing milk? 🙋‍♀️

My 1980s routine was pretty straightforward:
🫧 Anne French cleansing milk
🌾 The Body Shop Japanese Washing Grains
🥕 The Body Shop Carrot Moisturiser
And I genuinely thought I was being very sophisticated! 😂

Fast forward a few decades and WOW… skincare has come a long way.
It’s not just about having better ingredients now — it’s about how those ingredients are formulated and delivered into the skin, how they interact with different layers of the skin and how we can target specific concerns much more precisely.
One of my favourite examples is the ZO Skin Health Getting Skin Ready® protocol.

It looks deceptively simple — cleanse, exfoliate, tone — but there’s a lot of clever science behind those products. The formulations use advanced delivery systems and ingredients designed to prepare the skin, remove surface build-up and optimise the skin environment so that the products that follow can work more effectively.

And that’s the bit I find fascinating about modern skincare. We’ve gone from “slap on some moisturiser and hope for the best” to understanding skin biology, ingredient delivery, formulation technology and how different actives actually behave in the skin.

Although… I do still have a soft spot for that little pot of Carrot Moisturiser. 🥕😂

Who else remembers their 1980s skincare routine? I’d love to know what was in yours!

Not all visible signs of aging are the same—and neither are the solutions.

Firming Serum helps improve the appearance of skin laxity and loss of firmness, while Peptide Facial Refining Concentrate targets deep expression lines and supports facial contours. Together, they provide a more comprehensive approach to visibly addressing the signs of aging.
