This lovely lady Sue was one of them.

Getting her ready at The Shard on Saturday was such a joy. She was absolutely lovely from the moment we met at her trial till when I left her Saturday. She was genuinely so happy with how she looked and I think she looked absolutely amazing.

This is one of my favourite parts of what I do.

Not changing someone. Not making them look like someone else. Just bringing out the best in them and giving them that little bit of confidence that makes you stand a little taller, smile a little more and think, yes I look good.

Beautiful bride, beautiful setting, and a really special morning getting her ready for her wedding day. 🤍

And yes… The Shard makes a pretty spectacular backdrop too.

A very special bride 🤍

Sophie is a very special bride to me, and I wanted to share a little of her story because I think she deserves to be celebrated.

I first met Sophie two years ago when she was a bridesmaid at her cousin Katie’s wedding. She was pregnant with her little boy and, incredibly, was also going through cancer treatment. I remember thinking how incredibly brave she was. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been going through treatment while pregnant and preparing to become a mum.

So when Sophie contacted me to tell me she was getting married, I was absolutely thrilled. I was also really touched that she wanted me to be part of her wedding day.

Then, a couple of months before the wedding, Sophie messaged me with the news every cancer patient dreads — the cancer had come back. She would need more treatment, and suddenly there was another huge battle ahead.

Just three days after her wedding, Sophie had to go into hospital to begin her stem cell transplant. She is now facing weeks of treatment and being away from her little boy.

I honestly think she is one of the bravest people I’ve ever met. 🤍

So being able to be part of her wedding day was such a privilege.

And just LOOK at her… 😍 Doesn’t she look incredible?!

It was so lovely to see her cousin Katie again, now by her side as her bridesmaid, and to meet her wonderful mum and sister. She has such an amazing, supportive family around her.

This is one of the things I love about what I do. Makeup might seem like a small thing, but if I can give someone a few hours to feel beautiful, confident and like themselves, then that means so much to me. 🤍

Sophie, you are one incredibly brave and beautiful lady. I’m so glad I got to be part of your wedding day.

A beautiful venue, an early start, the first hot weekend of the year, a house full of people, lots of laughter and a bridal party who were an absolute joy to be around.

One minute everyone is having breakfast and chatting, the next you’re packing up your kit and wondering where the morning went.

Wedding mornings always go so quickly, but it’s the atmosphere you remember.

And this smile says it all 🤍

I also loved assisting for this one. Working for yourself can sometimes be quite a solitary job, so being part of a team, looking after a large bridal party together and sharing such a special morning is always something I love and appreciate.
