Your patchy beard isn’t the problem.
You might be making the patches look worse.
Three mistakes I see constantly:
1. Trimming too early
You keep cutting away the length that could help surrounding hairs create better visual coverage.
2. Cutting everything to one length
Your beard does not grow evenly. Treating every area exactly the same can emphasise thinner sections instead of balancing them.
3. Copying someone else’s beard
That dense Viking beard you saved might be completely wrong for your growth pattern. Choose a shape that works with your stronger areas instead of exposing the weaker ones.
And one thing beard oil will not do: magically grow new hair.
It can condition the beard hair and skin beneath it. Genetics still matter.
Stop fighting your beard. Start working with it.
Comment with the area you struggle with most. Save this before your next trim. Share it with the bloke ready to shave his off.

**Sharp beard. Sharp standards.**
Your beard doesn’t make you disciplined. But the way you look after yourself can reveal something about your standards.
You don’t groom because somebody told you to. You don’t train only when you feel motivated. You don’t put effort into yourself only when somebody is watching.
You do it because that’s the standard you’ve set.
The beard is just one small part of it.
**Look after yourself. Keep your word. Raise your standard.**
Save this for the mornings when you can’t be bothered. Share it with a man who lives the same way.

Beard itch ruins more beard journeys than bad genetics ever will.
You start growing.
It gets dry.
It starts itching.
You get fed up.
Then the razor comes out.
That does not mean you cannot grow a beard.
It means you have hit one of the stages most new beard growers are never prepared for.
The answer is not to keep shaving and starting again.
Learn how to look after the skin underneath, manage the itchy stage and give your beard enough time to actually grow.
We have put the process into our free guide to growing a beard.
No miracle growth claims. No nonsense. Just practical advice to help you stop quitting halfway through.

A patchy beard is not automatically a bad beard.
Too many men look at their cheeks after a few weeks, compare themselves to someone with completely different genetics, and reach for the razor.
That is usually too early.
More length can cover lighter areas. Good shaping can create stronger lines. And the right beard style can make the most of the growth you already have.
You do not need someone else’s beard.
You need to find yours.
Grow before you judge.

Beard itch does not always mean your beard has to go.
It often means the skin underneath needs more care.
Here are the three steps that worked for me:
**1. Wash it gently**
Use a light beard shampoo or rinse it well with warm water. Clean the beard without stripping the skin beneath it.
**2. Brush down to the skin**
Use a beard brush that reaches beneath the hair. This helps lift loose, dead skin and clear the flakes trapped in your beard. Brush gently—do not scrape.
**3. Oil the skin, not just the beard**
Work beard oil through the hair and into the skin. It helps keep the skin moisturised and reduces the dryness that can cause itch.
The beard was not the problem. The skin beneath it needed attention.

Funny how beard is just beer with a D.
Coincidence? Probably.
Are we going to build an entire marketing campaign around it anyway?
Absolutely.
Beer + D = Beard.
We’ll let you decide what the D stands for.

Stop wondering why your beard doesn’t suit you.
Most men don’t have a beard problem.
They have a face shape problem.
The beard that sharpens one man’s features can make another man’s face look longer, wider or less defined.
That’s why the right beard starts with knowing your shape:
— Oval
— Round
— Square
— Rectangle
— Diamond
— Heart
— Triangle
Once you know your face shape, you can choose a beard that adds balance, structure and strength in the right places.
Stop guessing. Find the beard built for your face.
