It’s a question we get asked ALL the time in the salon… so here’s the simple answer 👇

When we lighten your hair, it naturally exposes warm tones such as yellow, gold or orange.

🎨 A toner is what helps us create the finished colour you actually want.

Depending on your desired result, we can use a toner to:
💜 Neutralise unwanted yellow tones
💙 Soften orange or brassy tones
🤍 Create creamy, beige, icy or pearly blondes
✨ Add shine and give your colour a more polished finish
🌈 Add or enhance a particular tone.

Think of lightning as creating the canvas… and the toner as choosing the final shade.

And toner isn’t just for blondes! It can also be used to refine brunettes, coppers and other colours.

One thing to remember: toners aren’t permanent. They gradually fade with washing, heat styling and everyday life, which is why your blonde can start to feel warmer between appointments.
