Today marks 7 years since I took over sole ownership of Headmasters!
Whilst sometimes I question this decision 😆
I then remember what I’m also so bloody proud of and it’s actually quite a lot.
I’m super proud of giving my dad the exit from the business that he deserved.
Of being able to offer employment in hairdressing, employed jobs in our industry are scarce these days and being able to employ a whole team and pay them well is no mean feat.
Offering apprenticeships and training our stylist of the future, many of whom have gone on to have amazing businesses of their own.
Watching the team create beautiful hair day in, day out and build gorgeous relationships with their clients.

We haven’t needed to borrow money for over 15 years and we’re still here looking fresh, helping to hold up the high street after almost 42 years trading, which isn’t nothing in this game.
But none of that happens without my fabulous team and the team members that have come before them.
Continuing the legacy of a 42yr old family run business that they have backed and they show up for every single day.

If you’re not familiar with the Little Princess Trust, they make real hair wigs for children and young people facing hair loss from cancer and other conditions.
One of our clients donated hers today.
It takes up to 8 donations to make one wig. Each wig costs around £700 to make, fit and style - the Trust provides that all free to the child.
They’ve helped nearly 20,000 children so far and also fund research into childhood cancer treatments.
The charity was founded in 2005 by Wendy and Simon Tarplee in memory of their daughter Hannah, who was four when she was diagnosed with cancer and lost her hair during chemotherapy.

We were invited to Heritage House last week to listen to some brilliant conversations about what modern life actually looks like for working mothers, sustainable living and what simple wellness really means these days.
The talks were hosted by She’s Electric and Volvo UK and the panellists included Nicole Melillo Shaw, Anna Whitehouse, Alice Liveing and Emmy Brunner.
The conversations covered shared mental load, setting better boundaries, and making space for what actually matters. Anna spoke about her work fighting for flexible working and extended parental leave for birthing partners and dads. Nicole walked us through Volvo UK’s commitment to safety, sustainability and designing cars with women and family at the heart.
The whole day was full of B Corp businesses showcasing their work - brands built on environmental and social responsibility.
This resonates with us and it’s why we love being a part of the Davines community.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely people, and we even bumped into some of our clients there.
We felt grateful to be part of the conversation.
