💕 My Local Life: Jo Hardman (Guiver) – Celebrating 30 Years! 💕

This month, we celebrate Jo Hardman (Guiver), owner of Essential Beauty in the Corn Exchange, Royston, who marks an incredible 30 years in business in 2026!

Jo lives in Therfield and is Royston’s longest-established beauty salon owner. She started her business above Taylor’s Hairdressing (now the bike shop on High Street) before moving to John Street, where her business began to flourish. Over the years, Jo has grown with the community, even seeing work-experience student Katharine Moore become her first employee, working alongside her for 15 years!

Today, Jo runs her salon independently with one treatment room and a reception area, a setup she loves, which allows her to provide a personal, dedicated service to all her clients.

When asked about life in Royston, Jo says she loves the community spirit, with many clients returning for decades, now bringing their children and grandchildren. Outside work, she keeps active with CrossFit, Pilates, and walks with her two dogs, Willow and Woody.
