I do understand that sickness happens and can’t be helped. While I do always sympathise, I’ve had more cancellations in the last 3 weeks than I’ve had since I opened my business and I just can’t swallow that cost. I know it’s frustrating to pay 50% when you can’t attend your appointment, but even with that, I’m still losing out on the other 50%. It’s awkward for me to ask, and it’s never personal. I simply won’t be able to carry on self employed if I don’t enforce it. It’s my only source of income and my bills still need paying 🥹

My client has her hair short and wanted to neaten up her hairline with waxing instead of having to clip it. It feels nicer, it will stay smoother for longer, and with regular waxing the hair will thin out with less regrowth. Just because an area isn’t on my booking system doesn’t mean I can’t do it. People often add on a small area, I’ve waxed many toes along with a pedi!

Builder gel shouldn’t look bulky. This client came to me after having her nails done in another salon and she wasn’t happy with the finish. I’m seeing too many nail techs applying biab waaaaay too thick. Thicker doesn’t mean stronger. Strength comes from correct structure. If gel is applied thicker there’s a risk it isn’t fully cured underneath which can lead to damage or allergies. If you’re a nail tech struggling with application I also do mentoring 🥰
