Woco's Barbers Shop has now closed. Darryl can be found joining forces with another great Ryde barber at Phils Barber shop on Ryde High Street.
Darryl Watkinson has worked in a few different barber shops in Newport and Ryde since moving to the Isle of Wight in the 80's. In April 2013 he opened this shop in Ryde. This page will be updated regularly with times, prices, special offers etc. Parking - please note we do not have parking next to the shop (this is a private drive belonging to our neighbour!) There is plenty of places to park in the side streets off St Johns Road and the top of Ryde High Street. Please share this page with your friends to spread the word
Why it's called Woco's you may ask. Woco's is the Watkinson family nickname back up in York.
Have to admit it is much better working with someone especially on a cold day like today, Phil is a bear of a man and gives the warmest hugs !, now come and get your hair cut before he gets carried away...
Just a reminder that I'm now at 64 Ryde High street, same level of abuse as previously is still guaranteed...
So yesterday a 3 and a half year long adventure ended and a new one begins, many people have sent me kind messages of 'condolence' I don't see it as a loss, more a move forward working with an old friend Phil a prospect that we're both excited about, looking forward to seeing clients old and new on the high street, it only remains to thank you all for the laughs I've had in this shop and decide what to call the next venture ?, I'm leaning toward "Phoco's" or "WoPhil's" ??, ;) DW
Tomorrow marks the last day of this shop, whether or not you were a satisfied customer? , I like to think you left as a friend ?, I know you did X
With a unique combination of happiness and sadness I have to announce that Woco's Barbershop will be closing in the next month, happiness because I'm moving on to bigger things by teaming up with Phil Sheppard on Ryde high street and will therefore no longer have to endure the people in the flat upstairs and sadness because I'll have nowhere to put the drum kit !, I'd like to thank all my fantastic clients for the last 3 and a half years and point out I'm only moving 100 yards up the road and that the prices will remain the same, looking forward to seeing you all in the future.. In line with our ongoing policy of keeping our clients baffled I'm pleased to announce that we'll be open for business at 10 am tomorrow..
All my clothes have been washed using Persil free sniff with every haircut..
REMINDER - this is the last day we are open this week. We open again on Tuesday 13th. Sorry for any inconvenience but it's family time ☺️
Woco's will be closed from Thursday 8th and will reopen 13th September as we are off to join a party in a field.
