Andrew James & Co is a privately owned and managed high quality ladies and gents hairdressing salon located in the heart of Saffron Walden. Spacious, comfortable and temperature controlled throughout the year, we provide a comfortable and relaxed environment for all our clients. All of our staff are professionally trained and offer the highest quality hairdressing and customer service. We stock and supply a wide variety of hair care and maintenance products such as:

EXCEPTIONAL COLOURING - From creative to subtle colouring by knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic colourists who will listen to your requirements then suggest and explain, if necessary, the different colouring options to best achieve your colour choice. Highlighting, low lighting, tinting, ½ head, full head, permanent colour, semi permanent colour, weaving, flashing glossing etc. PRECISION HAIRCUTTING – Using a variety of the different techniques available to best achieve your look. Whether you request a restyle or continuous maintenance to your regular style. BLOWDRYING – Everything from big hair to soft curls. PERMING – Using highest quality perming lotions to ensure soft or firm curls keeping your hair in the best possible condition. SETTING – Using rollers with a non-sticky setting lotion if required. WEDDING HAIR - Trust us to have you, your Bridesmaids and your Grooms hair looking stunning on your big day. 📣 OPEN SATURDAY 4TH JULY 📣
The news you’ve all been waiting for!
Our doors will be back open to you from Saturday 4th July.
We can’t wait to be back in the salon and to see you all!
But first some important notes and some questions answered:
- If you had an appointment pre booked during the lockdown period you will be contacted next week by your stylist who will offer you an appointment.
- Appointments will be accepted over the phone from 4th July. But please bare in mind pre-existing appointments will take priority so please be patient while we try to squeeze you all in.
- We cannot make appointments via facebook or facebook messenger.
- Of course, if you have ANY covid-19 symptoms of any sort please DO NOT come into the salon. We still want to keep everybody safe!
- Appointments ONLY. No walk in appointments or fringe trim appointments until further notice.
- Regrettably we are unable to accept new clients at this time.
- We are prepared and will be following the latest guidelines and we have the appropriate PPE for ourselves and the salon. We would appreciate clients to also wear masks where possible.
- Please try and attend your appointment ALONE. We will be limited for space due to social distancing measures.
Any other questions or queries please ask and we will do our best to answer!
WE WILL BE BUSY. Please be patient with us during this period. Along with an influx of clients we will be adjusting to new and strict guidelines.

🤰🏼 P.S. Unfortunately Hayley Ashcroft will not be returning to the salon as she is starting her Maternity leave with just 8 weeks to go until her due date!
Her clients will be assigned by her to other stylists and will be contacted if they had appointments booked during lockdown.
Hayley is going to miss being in the salon but will see you all when she returns! X

Good morning everyone.
We just wanted to give you all a brief update to re opening.
The date we have provisionally been given, as you may have heard is Saturday 4th July. This date is SUBJECT TO CHANGE, so we are not currently taking any bookings for appointments.
When we do get the green light to re open, with the correct government guidelines, each stylist will be contacting clients who previously had appointments booked during lockdown and will be offering appointments.
We will then be taking telephone bookings from the day we re open.
Keep your eyes peeled and we will announce an opening date as soon as we know!
(Unfortunately we are unable to take any bookings via facebook at this time.)
Let’s hope it’s not too much longer to wait.
We can’t wait to get to get back to the salon and see you all!
