PCOS/PMOS can be associated with increased androgen activity.

In androgen-sensitive areas such as the chin, jawline, upper lip and neck, this can encourage hairs to become darker and coarser.

Laser does not treat PCOS/PMOS and it does not change hormone levels. What it can do is target suitable pigmented hair to achieve
long-term hair reduction.

Because hormonal influence can continue, some clients need more treatment and ongoing maintenance than someone whose hair
growth is not hormonally driven.

That is why we assess first and set realistic expectations from the beginning.

DM PCOS to arrange a free consultation and patch test.

Sometimes the hardest part is not the hair itself. It is the constant awareness of it.

Checking mirrors. Changing the light. Touching your chin without even realising you are doing it. Wondering whether somebody else has noticed.

Unwanted facial hair can affect confidence in ways that are difficult to explain if you have never experienced it.

We want those conversations to have a place here too.

Our PCOS/PMOS laser hair reduction programmes are 50% off all year round but
book during September and receive 55% OFF.

Hormonal hair can behave differently, so every programme begins with a free consultation and patch test. We assess your skin and
hair, discuss what you want to achieve and set realistic expectations from the beginning.

Laser can reduce suitable pigmented hair long term, but it does not change the underlying hormonal influence. Additional sessions and
ongoing maintenance may be needed.

Hormonal facial hair is different — and your treatment plan should recognise that. 💙

With PCOS/PMOS, hormones can continue to influence hair growth even while laser is successfully reducing suitable pigmented hair.

That is why we start with a consultation and patch test, assess your individual pattern of growth and talk honestly about what laser can and cannot do. 🔎

Laser can achieve significant long-term hair reduction ✨ It cannot change your hormones, and some clients will need additional sessions or ongoing maintenance.

No same-day treatment. No pressure. Just an individual plan and realistic expectations. 🤍

Autumn is a great time to start your laser hair reduction journey. 🍂

As we move into autumn, there is generally less sun exposure to manage and it can be easier to build a consistent treatment routine.

If your facial hair is hormonally influenced, the important thing is starting with the right assessment and realistic expectations. Laser can achieve long-term reduction in suitable pigmented hair, but it does not change the hormonal influence behind the growth and ongoing maintenance may be needed.

Every journey starts with a free consultation and patch test before treatment. ✨

DM us “LASER” to arrange yours. 💬

SEPTEMBER IS PMOS AWARENESS MONTH 💙

If you’ve followed Cornwall Skin Clinic for a while, you’ll know that PMOS/PCOS is something particularly close to my heart.
My own experience of excess hair growth, weight & insulin problems from PMOS was the reason I retrained in laser hair reduction.

For years we’ve offered 50% off laser hair reduction for clients diagnosed with PMOS/PCOS, because I know first-hand just how much unwanted hair can affect you.

Now we’re adding rapid result blood testing to our monthly PMOS subscription through Cornwall Health Lab and Test-Based Nutrition® Integration Clinics and Health Clubs

Cornwall Health Lab is a nurse and phlebotomist-led private testing service, sharing our location and based in Treatment Room 2 as well as offering hub clinics in gyms and wellness centres.

Depending on what’s relevant for you, we can now look at biomarkers and nutritional markers that may form part of your individual PMOS picture, including:

🧪 Testosterone — hormones & androgens
🩸 Ferritin — iron stores fatigue & hair shedding
🧪 HbA1c — your average blood glucose over the last 2–3 months
🦋 FSH & TSH — hormone & thyroid markers
🦠 Gut Health — a closer look at your gut environment
🐟 Omega Balance — your actual Omega-6:3 balance

It’s about having more information about you, rather than guessing from symptoms alone.

And this is where our PMOS subscription is changing too. 💙

We’re adding Cornwall Health Lab blood testing into the monthly subscription, so it’s not just about supporting the symptoms you can see.

The subscription now includes selected biomarker and nutritional testing, alongside ongoing support and retesting over time.

So rather than testing once and forgetting about it, we can build a clearer picture, support where appropriate and then retest to see what has actually changed.

Test. Support. Retest. 🧪

Testing doesn’t diagnose or treat PMOS and doesn’t replace your GP or specialist. It simply gives you additional information about your own biomarkers and nutritional status and may help identify what could be worth looking at next.

If this could help someoneyou know, please share it with them. 💙
