Part 4
WHAT’S ACTUALLY HOLDING BACK YOUR PROGRESS? 👀
🏆 PART 4 — THE ADVANCED LIFTER
You’ve been training consistently for years.
Now progress might feel painfully slow.
That’s NORMAL.
When you’re advanced, you’re not going to transform every 8 weeks.
Your improvements might be:
➡️ Another rep with the same weight
➡️ Slightly better technique
➡️ Bringing up a weak body part
➡️ Maintaining strength during a cut
➡️ Adding quality tissue during a gaining phase
➡️ Looking slightly better than you did last year
This is where patience becomes one of your biggest weapons.
Training needs to be SMARTER.
Nutrition needs to become more precise.
Recovery matters.
Exercise selection matters.
Fatigue management matters.
And staying injury-free matters.
Stop expecting beginner-level progress from an advanced body.
After years of training, SMALL improvements are BIG wins.
Keep turning up. Keep improving. Keep patient.

My own transformation first pics in June 26 and the last ones October 26. Scale hasn’t changed much 4.7kg all together but body composition has changed massively for my shows again next year.
Like I say to all my clients or advice to people scale weight is not the progress tracker, your visuals are, how you perform in the gym, nutrition is in a good direction, stick to a plan and be patient.
We have still got a goals to set and keep chasing but. This what I mean my calories have stayed the same now for nearly 6.5 weeks but we are making move body move more by adding 5 mins extra cardio when needed or extra steps
Movement is medicine and positive and healthy mind

🏋️ **COMING BACK TO TRAINING? LET’S KEEP IT SIMPLE.**
I’ve had a couple of old clients come back to me recently, and the first thing I say is:
**“Let’s keep it simple.”**
If you’ve had time away from training, don’t compare your first session back to your best session before you stopped.
Give yourself time. 👊
Start with **2–3 sessions a week**, use manageable weights and build a routine that fits around your life.
With food, don't overcomplicate things either.
🥩 Regular meals
💪 Plenty of protein
🥦 Fruit & vegetables
💧 Stay hydrated
Then think about **what made you stop last time.**
Was the plan too demanding?
Did life get in the way?
Were you trying to do too much too soon?
Understanding that can help us build a plan that works **better for you this time.**
You don't need to train perfectly.
You don't need to destroy yourself in every session.
You just need to **keep showing up and gradually build.** 📈
And remember…
**You haven't failed because you've had time away.**
Coming back is a positive step. ✅
Keep repeating those basics and, before you know it, you'll be finding your groove again.
If you've been thinking about getting back into training but don't know where to start, **send me a message.**
Let's get you moving again. 💪
🔥 THE BORING STUFF WORKS.
There's nothing glamorous about:
🏋️ Training consistently
🥗 Eating well
😴 Getting enough sleep
💪 Recovering properly
📈 Tracking your progress
🔁 Repeating it for months and years
But that's exactly why it works.
You don't need to constantly change your programme.
You don't need a new diet every Monday.
You need a plan you can actually stick to.
Consistency beats constantly starting again. 💯
Part 3
WHAT’S ACTUALLY HOLDING BACK YOUR PROGRESS? 👀
🏋️ PART 3 — BEEN TRAINING FOR YEARS
This is where things start to get interesting.
You’ve built muscle.
You’re stronger.
You know your way around the gym.
But progress has slowed down.
Now you need to ask yourself:
Are you actually progressing your lifts?
Are you training hard enough — or just going through the motions?
Are you doing too much unnecessary volume?
Are you recovering properly?
Does your nutrition actually match your current goal?
Do you have weak areas that need more attention?
Experienced training isn’t about finding 20 new exercises.
It’s about getting MORE from what you’re already doing.
Better ex*****on.
Better intensity.
Better recovery.
Better nutrition.
Better structure.
The longer you’ve trained, the more the little details matter.

I’ve been training with Dan for a while now and honestly couldn’t recommend him more. I came in wanting to make a real change, not just go through the motions.
What stands out most is how much he actually cares about results. He’s not just there to count reps; he’s invested in seeing you progress and holds you to account every session. That accountability has been a game changer for me. He’s supportive but won’t let you have an easy ride, and it’s exactly what I needed. If you’re serious about making a change and want a PT who genuinely cares and keeps you on track, Dan is the man.
