Today's new moon is probably one of the most important new moons in the calendar. Following Samhain, the New Moon in Scorpio asks us to look at our journey over the last year and...

Today marks the final day of the Truly Artisan shop at Emporium M33 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Scott and all of the team at the store. I would also like to thank our incredible customers for supporting the shop plus all of those who have ordered recently whilst I have been running the stock down, your support has been amazing.

The last few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster and I am so grateful to all who have reached out, the love you guys have shown for my little business has been heartwarming and deeply encouraging.

Andrew and I have taken the decision to keep the core Truly Artisan products and the range of Wheel of the Year inspired candles online and you will be able to buy all of your favourites from our website. I shall be blogging more about seasonal living and sharing with you my love of the seasons and the natural world.

Is the ‘Instagramification’ of pumpkins adding to our food waste problem?

The popularity of pumpkins and Halloween-related activities in the UK has risen significantly, with estimated spending exceeding £600 million this year on food, costumes, and decorations. Carving pumpkins for display is a cherished tradition, but a concerning statistic reveals that out of the 39.9 million pumpkins purchased, 22.2 million will end up wasted, according to the charity Hubbub.

All this isn’t to throw shade on pumpkin carving and other fun Halloween activities, but it’s a gentle nudge to keep an eye on the food waste that sneaks in. Let’s all do our part to reduce food waste while reveling in pumpkins for their fabulous double duty: spooky decor and autumnal meals.
