Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
This year, it means something very different to me.
Recently, our family lost my cousin to su***de.
The voice you can hear on this video is his. The song was written and sung by him, and it felt right that today, his voice should be used to help start a conversation that could help someone else.
I’m not sharing this for sympathy, and I don’t want this to be about our grief.
I’m sharing it because someone reading this may be struggling quietly right now. And if this post makes just one person reach out instead of trying to cope alone, then it has done something worthwhile.
Especially to the men reading this:
You don’t have to be the strong one all the time.
You don’t have to keep everything bottled up.
You don’t have to know how to explain what you’re feeling.
And you don’t have to wait until things become unbearable before you ask for help.
There are other options, even when it doesn’t feel that way.
So, from today, I want to make something very simple.

Just a quick update from us…
Our WiFi is currently down, which means we don’t have access to the booking system or card machine at The Beauty Bar.
We are still OPEN as normal ☀️
Gemma is managing the diary remotely from home, so we can still deal with bookings and enquiries , it may just take us a little longer than usual to get everything sorted.
If you normally pay as you go for your sunbed, we’ll send you a payment link instead while the card machine is offline. If possible, please book ahead before coming in, as this will really help us keep everything running smoothly while we’re working around the outage.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience caused. Hopefully we’ll be back online very soon!

A little update for today…
Unfortunately, due to staff sickness, I’m having to close The Beauty Bar earlier than planned today.
I’ve managed to arrange some cover, but only for a short period, which means we will be closing at 2pm today.
If you have a booking after 2pm, I’ll be contacting you directly to either move your appointment to an earlier time today, or cancel it if that isn’t possible. Any pass minutes used for the booking will of course be returned, and any payments made will be refunded where applicable.
I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, especially to anyone whose plans this affects. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience.
We’ll be back to our normal opening hours tomorrow.

🦩 UPDATED HOURS 🦩
WEEK COMMENCING 17TH AUGUST
Just a little heads-up that our Monday–Friday opening hours will look slightly different this week due to staff holiday.
Unfortunately, our therapists over at The Beauty Lounge are so busy with their own clients that they’re unable to help us with cover this time, so we’ve had to make a few temporary adjustments.
Monday: 10am–1:30pm
Tuesday: 4pm–8pm
Wednesday: 2pm–6pm
Thursday: 3pm–7:30pm
Friday: 11am–2pm
Weekend hours remain as normal. 🙌
If you’re planning your tanning sessions this week, please take a quick look at the adjusted times before heading over.
Booking ahead is recommended, particularly if you prefer the stand-up.
Thank you for bearing with us while the team enjoy some very well-deserved time off!

🥵☀️ UPDATE…WE’RE CALLING IT FOR TODAY! ☀️🥵
Unfortunately, the shop is still HOT HOT HOT 🔥 and it’s just not cooling down enough for us to safely reopen the sunbeds this evening.
So rather than continuing to reassess hour by hour, I’ve made the decision that The Beauty Bar sunbeds will remain CLOSED for the rest of today. 🩷
I know this is frustrating, especially for those of you who were hoping to get your minutes in this evening, but with the heat the way it is, your safety and our team’s safety has to come first.
If your booking has been affected, you won’t lose your minutes.
Hopefully we’ll be back to normal tomorrow 🤞🦩

☀️ SUNBED UPDATE ☀️
With the salon already sitting at 32°C and the outside temperature continuing to rise, I’ve made the decision to temporarily close the sunbeds until at least 5pm today. 🥵
I’ll be monitoring the temperature hour by hour and will keep you updated. If the salon cools enough to reopen safely, I’ll let you know; equally, the closure may need to be extended depending on the temperature.
I know it’s frustrating, especially if you were planning to tan today, but your safety and the safety of our team has to come first.
Anyone with a booking affected by the closure will of course not lose their minutes.
Please keep an eye on our socials for updates.

🚨 Important Update 🚨
Due to staff illness, our team at The Beauty Lounge will be covering the sunbeds from 5:00pm today.
To allow us to support both businesses safely, The Beauty Bar will be closing 30 minutes earlier than usual at 7:30pm.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and really appreciate your understanding and patience.
