If you’re hoping to have anti-wrinkle treatment in the run-up to Christmas, this is the clinic to get booked into. A face-to-face consultation with our prescriber is required before prescription anti-wrinkle treatment can go ahead.

Your consultation gives Laurie the opportunity to review your medical history, assess suitability and prescribe where clinically appropriate, ready for your treatment appointment with me.

💋 WHY DOES THE LIM BORDER START TO DISAPPEAR?

One of the changes we often notice as we age is that the lips can start to lose definition, especially around the border.

This happens because over time the natural pigment in the lips can fade, the vermilion border (the outline of the lips) can become less distinct, and age-related changes in the skin can make the lip edge look softer or less crisp than it once did.

The result is that lips can appear paler, less defined and sometimes even smaller, even when the actual lip shape hasn’t changed as much as it seems.

Lip Blush can help by implanting pigment softly into the lips and carefully restoring colour and definition through the border. This can improve the appearance of:

The aim is not to create a harsh line or an unnatural lipstick effect.

KOREAN LASH LIFT

You’ve probably seen Korean Lash Lifts everywhere recently… but what actually makes them different from a traditional lash lift?

Both treatments work by temporarily restructuring the natural lash so it can be set into a new lifted position, but the technique and the way we control the lash are different.

With a traditional lash lift, the natural lashes are normally placed onto a curved silicone shield first and the lifting solution is then applied to reshape the lash around that shield.

With a Korean Lash Lift, the lashes are often softened first, sometimes using a flatter shield or a different first-stage placement. Once the lashes become more flexible, we have much more control over how they are directed and positioned before setting them into their final shape.

That means we can really concentrate on:

✨ Lifting from the root
✨ Correcting downward-growing lashes
✨ Separating and directing each lash
✨ Creating a clean, elongated appearance
✨ Customising the final shape to the natural lashes and the client’s eye

Many Korean-style systems also use cysteamine-based lifting products, which work differently from the thioglycolate-based products commonly associated with traditional lash lifts. However, the term “Korean Lash Lift” is about more than just the product used, it’s the whole technique and approach to creating the lift.

And another big difference?

Rather than simply choosing a shield and creating a curl around it, the Korean technique gives us much more control over the root lift, direction and final shape of the lashes.

The result is that beautifully lifted, almost “stretched” lash effect you can see in these photos, making the natural lashes appear incredibly long without adding a single extension. 🤍

Not necessarily better than a traditional lash lift, just a different technique that gives us another way to customise your results.

I’ve realised recently that although I’ve put so much work into building The Beauty Lounge Academy, I haven’t actually talked about it enough.

So this is me changing that.

After more than 20 years in the beauty industry, I’ve reached a point where I want to use everything I’ve learned from the good, the difficult and the things you only really learn from working with real clients, to help develop the next generation of beauty professionals.

I don’t want the Academy to simply be somewhere people collect certificates. I want it to be known for practical training, support, confidence and high professional standards.

That philosophy is at the heart of everything I’m building.

The Academy now offers 1:1 training, small group courses, CPD, masterclasses, confidence building sessions and selected RACPD-funded training.
