📹 A little reminder regarding CCTV at The Retreat

Due to an unfortunate increase in antisocial behaviour in the area, I just wanted to remind everyone that The Retreat – Hair By Abby is covered by CCTV.

There are already clearly visible cameras around the property, including the two shown here, as well as four additional cameras covering the front, side and rear of the property.

There is also CCTV inside the salon itself.

Signs are clearly displayed outside the property and inside the salon, so anyone entering the premises is made aware that CCTV is in operation.

Thankfully, this doesn’t affect my lovely clients in any way — it’s simply there to protect my home, my business, my clients and our property. 💜

Recordings can be provided to the relevant authorities where necessary.

Hopefully this won’t be needed, but after repeated incidents of criminal damage in the area, it’s better to be safe than sorry. x

A little appointment update 💕

Unfortunately, I’ve had to rearrange some appointments over the next couple of days.

There’s currently an infectious illness in my household, and after speaking with the doctors, I’ve been advised to isolate for a couple of days as a precaution.

As I work closely with clients, I don’t want to take any chances with passing anything on, so I’d rather be safe than sorry. ❤️

I’m really sorry to anyone whose appointment I’ve had to move, especially at short notice. I know how frustrating it is when you’ve been looking forward to your hair appointment, and I’ll do my absolute best to get everyone rearranged as quickly as possible.

📢 A LITTLE BUSINESS UPDATE — CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY 📢

I completely understand that life happens and sometimes plans have to change ❤️ Appointments are reserved specifically for you, and last-minute cancellations or missed appointments can mean that another client misses out on the opportunity to take that slot.

So, going forward, I’ll be introducing a clear Cancellation & No-Show Policy for all appointments.

✨ 48+ HOURS NOTICE
Cancel or rearrange your appointment with at least 48 hours’ notice and there will be no charge.

✨ LESS THAN 48 HOURS NOTICE
Cancellations or rearrangements made within 48 hours of your appointment will incur a 50% charge of the original booked service price. This will need to be paid before you can rebook.

✨ SAME-DAY CANCELLATIONS
Cancelling on the day of your appointment will incur a 100% charge of the original booked service price, which must be paid before you can rebook.

✨ NO-SHOWS
If you don’t attend your appointment and haven’t contacted me beforehand, this will be classed as a no-show and 100% of the booked service price will be charged before any future appointments can be booked.

✨ RUNNING LATE?
There is a 15-minute grace period for lateness. If you’re more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be treated as a cancellation/no-show and the 100% fee may apply. Please always message me if you know you’re going to be late so I know what’s happening.

✨ CHANGING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Moving or rearranging an appointment at short notice is treated the same as cancelling, as that original appointment time has still been reserved for you and may not be possible to fill at short notice.

This policy is not intended to be completely set in stone. I understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected situations can happen, and I will always use my discretion and consider these on a case-by-case basis. Please don’t worry about contacting me if something genuinely unavoidable happens — communication is always appreciated.

The policy is simply there to protect my time and my business from repeated last-minute cancellations and no-shows, while also being fair to clients who regularly attend their appointments.
