20 years of Not On The High Street and 10 of them with Wild Planet. What a milestone to celebrate! 🥂

A week ago tomorrow, we headed to Birmingham for a brilliant day marking two decades of championing independent businesses. One of the highlights was meeting Sara Davies MBE a true advocate for small businesses and the people behind them.

It was lovely to celebrate alongside so many people who understand the highs, lows and everything in between of running a small business - with plenty of fizz flowing, of course!

‘Small batch’ is a phrase used rather freely, but for us it genuinely means making in quantities small enough for us to blend, bottle, label and check everything here in our Kent workshop.

It’s slower than sending a formula off to a large manufacturer, but it keeps us close to every fragrance we create and means our products are always freshly made🌿

Strange weather in Sevenoaks today - grey and pouring with rain for most of it and now bright blue skies and sunshine, as though summer has suddenly returned! 😎

September suits those in-between fragrances - still bright, but with a little more depth underneath. The days can still feel warm, but the light is softer and autumn is beginning to creep in.

Take Golden Hour, for example. It has sparkling Sicilian lemon, softened with lavender and one of my favourites, vetiver, which gives it an earthy, smoky depth. The result is warmer and quieter than a straightforward lemon fragrance - more late-afternoon light than fizzy lemonade!

👋 1 September already. Summer seems to have passed in a (very hot) blur and I’m writing this while I’m still in France waiting for a very delayed shuttle - at least two hours apparently 🙄 but my mind has already gone back to the workshop and a very long to do list and I’ll be back at the workbench tomorrow whatever time I arrive back in Kent tonight🤦‍♀️

I’ve also been thinking about how I want to show up here a little more often. Not with endless polished posts or a sales message every day, but with more of what actually happens behind Wild Planet and what life in a small fragrance business really looks like. And I’d love to know what you would find most useful: scent advice, essential oil knowledge or more behind the scenes?

☀️ Sunshine, long summer evenings and England through to the next round… what’s not to feel good about?😎

Keep those feel-good vibes going with Lemon Verbena - one of our freshest, sunniest room sprays. Blended with pure lemon, verbena and lemongrass essential oils, it brings a bright, refreshing lift to your home before friends and family gather to watch the match this Saturday.

Where did May go?!

Although it felt like a long month at times, it seems to have flown by. We’ve been busy making new stock, creating a new gift box (which will be launching online and in-store soon) welcoming two lovely new stockists - please see details below and of course the making, pouring, packing and sniffing continues as usual! All fuelled by coffee… lots of coffee! Thank you to next door for keeping us going ☕

We’re delighted to share that Wild Planet is now stocked in the beautiful new home, gift and lifestyle shop opened by in the heart of Sevenoaks. Many of you will already know and love their florist, and their new shop is full of carefully chosen gifts, homewares and beautiful finds.

We’re also thrilled to be stocked at within Garden Centre in Surrey. It’s a wonderful space filled with home and garden inspiration, unique gifts and stunning botanical displays and amazing living plant walls!🌿

A new chapter for Wild Planet 🌿

From this week, our space will be evolving into a dedicated workshop, allowing us to spend more time doing what we love most - creating, pouring and developing new products for you.

So much of what we do happens behind the scenes and balancing making, packing, supplying stock and running both our online and retail space has meant we haven’t always been able to share as much as we’d like - something we’re really looking forward to changing, so watch this space!

We’re also thrilled that our products will be available in the brand new on the other side of the courtyard, they’ll be open Wednesday-Sunday, 9-5 making it much easier to pick up your favourites throughout the week alongside some of the lovely local produce you’ll find there.

Our workshop will continue to be the place for click & collect and refills and if there’s something the shop doesn’t have in stock, please do pop in and we’ll be happy to help – just knock, as we may be pouring 🤍

We’ll be closed until Monday as we reconfigure the space into a more dedicated workshop. The farm shop launches this Friday, so do go along, show them some support and give them a follow.
