After looking through my attic archives I’ve found a collection of old tear sheets from magazines pre salon years, to show at a later date. But here is one that made me smile this morning! Trade press from Hairdressers Journal 25 years ago.

Saturday August 19th 2000. Door is open for the first time. A mere 30 years old, eagerly waiting for my first client to arrive. Newspapers and wine delivered.Ready for my opening party that evening. Now 25 years on! Still here, feeling blessed.

Here are some before and after images of the salon from the beginning of our 25 year anniversary journey. I had a vision to turn this run down tool and garden shop in to a tranquil setting for my salon. My proud father and uncle popped in to see what I had taken on. The 5th of June 2000 i remember the day collecting the keys, with the 10 year lease signed. They thought I was crazy! With only £25k to renovate and start a business. They were right about business side 🙂 I had to raise another £15k. In today’s terms with inflation and costings, there is no way I could pull this off again. So I am truly grateful for the opportunity I had, and the clients and team that made this business what it is today. Thank you to all

Today I’m delighted to celebrate my salon’s 25th anniversary. It’s been one amazing journey, a lot of memories filled with smiles. I felt a long way from Mayfair and the world of fashion when I opened the salon doors in 2000. But I soon created a strong client base and love for Sevenoaks, with the help of an amazing team around me. It’s always a pleasure being in the salon, building relationships with our clients. So we look forward to seeing you all very soon, to join in our celebrations.
