Somehow, cancellation fees can seem unfair when it comes to a beauty appointment…

But let’s look at it from a different perspective. 👇🏼

🎟️ You buy a concert ticket, but then forget to go or something comes up. The venue doesn’t refund you because your seat was reserved for you.

🏨 You book a hotel room but don’t turn up. The room was held specifically for you, so you’re still charged.

✈️ You miss your flight. The plane leaves without you, and your seat was still reserved whether you were on it or not.

🎓 You book onto a class but don’t attend. That space was held for you and could have been offered to someone else.

Now let’s bring it into the beauty world… 💕

When you book an appointment with me, that time is reserved specifically for you.

Whether it’s a 30-minute appointment or a 3-hour treatment, that time is blocked out in my diary and is no longer available for another client to book.

So when an appointment is cancelled at the last minute, or someone simply doesn’t show up, I can’t always fill that space again.

And that’s the important bit…

💗 A cancellation fee isn’t a charge for “doing nothing”.

It’s a charge for a time that was reserved exclusively for you — time that I have turned away other clients to keep available.

I completely understand that emergencies happen. ❤️
I have a family, a business and a life too, so I genuinely understand that sometimes things happen that are completely out of our control.

I’m always happy to use common sense and allow a little grace when it’s genuinely needed.

But repeated late cancellations, no-shows and appointments cancelled without consideration do have an impact on a small business.

My bills, products, insurance, rent, software and all the other costs of running a business don’t disappear when an appointment does.

My cancellation policy isn’t personal.
It isn’t about making extra money.
It’s simply there to protect my time, my business and my livelihood. ❤️

I’m incredibly grateful to all of my lovely clients who respect my time, give as much notice as possible when they need to change an appointment, and understand why these policies are in place.
