Running the pro race in aid of MacMillan might not of been my smartest physical challenge to take on with poor preparation and being in probably worst physical condition in the last 6 years. Had broken foot. Broken nose effecting breathing. Covid last week overweight by a good stone and half. Early onset of a rheumatoid condition…..

In a couple of weeks time I’ll be taking on a Hyrox (a horrible fitness challenge, Google it if you’ve not heard of it).

I used to do these sort of things for fun but this time it will be for a good cause in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

Over the last few years I’ve seen cancer impact some good friends. Some have survived, some are still fighting and have unfortunately lost the battle.

This won’t be a walk in the park for me. My own fitness has deteriorated this past year due to injury and my own health issues. Any support will be greatly appreciated.

And just remember it only takes 100 friends on here to donate the price of a Costa coffee to hit my target.

Funeral Notice - Mr Andrew Peter Hyde ❤

Hi all, a number of you have asked about my dad's funeral arrangements, and they are as follows.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a small funeral with limited numbers, primarily for family and a very small number of close friends. Andy would have looked forward to seeing you all there, but our hands are tied. The funeral will be on Saturday 27th June at 11:50 at Brimmington, Chesterfield. Unfortunately we can also only accept family flowers. That day the funeral cars will pass by Andy’s shop around 11:00 to give people the opportunity to pay their respects to him as he passes by.

Andy died peacefully due to pneumonia, at St Luke’s Hospice, after a short battle with cancer. ❤

Please note that although lock down is being relaxed for some, that I will not be re-open in any capacity as of my paralyse I cannot ever cut hair again. I'm retired from the job and looking forward to my retirement life

Ok guys I have been told by the team of doctors today where I stand with my cancer. I'm afraid I have to say that I will not be able to make a recovery in any way. I have become paralysed from the waist down and will not be able to get any further use of my back. Effectively the business will not be able to return. You will have to move on to the next nearest salon /barber's. I am so gonna miss every single one of my wonderful friends (customers) but it is what it is. I'm dying to be blunt. And time is against me. Please let me be, I have been in great spirits with all of this and I will continue to fight for the next few months as time is all I have got left. All the best for your futures and I have been overwhelmed with your support and good wishes. I am fine, mentally. I got this feeling I am not going to be going anywhere too soon. Enough of my ranting. Love to you and your future. Please don't call asking me about opening up. It ain't gonna happen and every day someone does enquire. That is hurting me because I love what I do and have no way to carry on. All my love and regards, you guys have been amazing clients. Stay safe. Be aware of the nob in the wheelchair. Update on the business plan for after the lock down. I'll be honest with you about this. Very unlikely that I will personally be able to get any mobility back to work for a long time, so unfortunately I'm not going to commit to work until the outcome of this cancer treatment which will not be until the autumn term. As it stands I would seek another barbershop locally, it's just a matter of time whether or not I will be able to walk unaided anytime in the futre. Please keep checking in cos you never know what may happen. Stay safe and I actually miss all of your quirks and foibles!
