What is the Restore Salve, and why did we create a product for hard working hands (that actually works)?

The product itself is much richer and heavier than a typical water-based hand cream, so a little goes a really long way.

We also use aluminium tubes because they’re lightweight, protective and use far less plastic than traditional skincare packaging.

The formula might be a little different from what you’re expecting…

• SHEA BUTTER
Softens dry, rough skin. A sensible place to start.

• SQUALENE + JOJOBA OIL
Similar to components found naturally in our skin’s oils, they help replenish the protective oily layer that compost, cold weather and excessive handwashing are very good at stripping away.

• ROSEHIP + BLACK SEED OILS
Rich in linoleic acid to help support the skin barrier. Black seed oil also contains thymoquinone - which I struggle to pronounce, but has been studied for its antioxidant and soothing properties.

• CASTORLATUM
The star ingredient. A plant-based alternative to petroleum jelly that forms a protective layer over the skin and helps slow down moisture loss.

That’s why this is an intensive treatment - not something your hands drink up in 30 seconds before demanding more.

• VITAMIN E
Conditions the skin while helping protect all those lovely oils from oxidation (or spoiling)
